As crazy as this feels, I think I'm ready to let my baby go in order to move on to the next project. Anyone that knows me can tell you I'm pretty anal when it comes to maintenance and general care for my bikes. The Buell has received nothing but the best, oil changes every ~1500mi, runs flawless, super fun street bike. I will miss it dearly but can't really afford to keep 3 big bikes and 2 minis running the way I like to. Here's a few pics and the details (btw, the gas mask was sold): - 2005 Buell XB12S Lightning ~15K miles - one owner - fresh Pirelli Scorpion Syncs with one Red Group track day on them - fresh oil and filter - recent GMD fork and shock service - Drummer performance exhaust - Race ECM - UNI filter - Iron Machine race wires - '07 vented outer airbox - '07 vented inner airbox - Villain black wheels - Headlight grille - CityX black fairing mounts - PDGMoto custom gauge faceplate - Black chin cowl - Rivet eliminator kit - Frank-Parts low profile right-side scoop - ProTaper Contour fatbars in the Carmichael bend - Rizoma oversized clamp - CRG shorty levers - Oberon LED signals w/upgraded Grote flasher - LSL Billet pegs - Oberon bar-end mirrors - Oberon reservoir cover - Free Spirits front pulley cover (most likely being removed) - Free Spirits modified tensioner - Free Spirts soft clutch - Banke dipstick - pM-Performance tail lift (most likely being removed) - Hillbilly-Motors Carbon/Kevlar tail - Sato axle sliders - Black anodized heel guards - recent Lyndall Gold+ Carbon Kevlar Pads - Brembo/Ducati rear brake upgrade w/custom Dark Horse Moto bracket I've put about $5000+ in extras on the bike, most from Europe, this makes it hard to price since some of the stuff is no longer avail or no longer sold to the US but I'm going to give it a try at $7900. KBB has a used '05 stock bike listed at ~$6400 so I'm tacking on $1500 for the extras but I may part out some of them since they're pricey and difficult to get to the states. I get asked about each mod almost daily still so I'm pretty confident anything I remove will go for decent coin, e.g. the carbon/kevlar tail piece and cast aluminum lift kit would cost about 1K alone. PM or email me with any questions, bike is located in central MA. Thanks! clinton[at]pdgmoto.com (Message edited by typeone on January 02, 2009) |

Dana, I'll let you know if I start parting stuff out. For now I'm looking to keep most of the parts intact. |

not sure what you mean about who spoke first but i'll let you know if i dont get any bites for the bike intact. there have already been emails and PMs for specific items but you're the first regarding the tensioner. |

nope, not sold, just posted yesterday (in winter), hahaa. i modified a UK spec Avon S-10 gas mask and fit it to the stock headlight unit. mask came from a military surplus vendor in the UK. |

thanks, brian! i'll be sad too but i think its the right move for me. next project is an Aprilia SXV 5.5 motard i come from (and still ride) dirt, i knew it was only a matter of time before i downsized my road bike. also will double as a track toy. |

sorry to hijack: that bike is pure sex. you won't be sorry for the switch. at least i wasn't.(husky sm610) it took me all of about 2 hours to get use to the difference in power. i also started on dirt bikes. the motard is the best of both kinds of bikes. little bit of road, little bit of dirt. depends on my mood. any way. sorry to rant. good luck with the sale. brian p.s.supermotojunkie (dot)com. i'm sure you already know. |

no sweat, and i agree, that thing is pure sexxx. i dont think i'll regret it either, i'm a dirt guy at heart and sometimes ride MX more than street. motard only seems natural. i've got a Husky TC250 and thought hard about a SMR510 but that Ape is just too nuts. ride reports of the 550 twin make me salivate. my neighbor is looking hard at the SM610, they seem almost bulletproof in comparison to the more race focused 'tards. yeah, read SMJ and AF1 daily if the XB doesnt sell i'll just keep it, love it to death, just cant afford to have a bike for every style of riding i like. |

I would be REALY interested in the tail lift kit if your willing to part with it or the pending sale doesn't want it. That bike is just breathtaking |

Typeone, if the sale doesn't go through and you end up parting out I'd definately be interested in the Oberon flashers. |
