Here is that ad 'bump' I warned you guys about in that "Old School" thread:

Cyclone or X1, maybe S3 aluminum swingarm. just the bare swingarm with bearings and a few of the rubber wellnuts still in the tabs. NO mount or guards. Appears to be undamaged and fully serviceable.
Picked it up at a swap meet - history unknown.
I was thinking about polishing it and putting it on my RS/S2T thing. After some measuring and visual comparison, plus a bit of introspection into my own willingness to expend the effort required to pull this one off, I've abandoned that idea like it had the crabs.

Slaughter expressed some interest in cutting it up and using the ends for a race bike/chain conversion. I tried to contact him thru this board to no avail. Steve - if you still want this thing, give me a call.

Here's a couple of photos of it.

NOTE: areas in photos that look to be dirt, grease or rub marks are dirt, grease and rub marks.
Dirt, grease and rub mark removal is responsibility of buyer (see "willingness...." above)

ps: no extra charge for dirt, grease or rub marks.

pps: I'd be open to a trade for a decent S2 'recall' steel swingarm, if someone has an extra one of those.

Is this still available or has a trade taken place?

Trade's in the works -
I just started boxing it up to ship this coming Monday.

They are out there - the chopper boys are still going strong. I think that with all of the back-off on building complete bikes from aftermarket kits and parts, that the guys that want to build customs will be turning to tube frame Buells for donor bikes even more than before. Easier to register than that "special construction" hassle, and insurance is easier too.

They will not be needing any of that silly suspension crap for the cool rigid bikes they build. Improves the handling and comfort, ya know!

Note to snowed-in chopper riders:

Practice "the look" -
1 - Sit on a milkcrate
2 - stick legs straight out in front, feet pointing up
3 - lean forward at waist about 30 degrees
4 - raise arms forward & above shoulders
5 - kink neck back so you can see ahead
6 - grimace, scowl or otherwise show that this is serious stuff and not in any way fun

Repeat on weekend evenings for about 15 minutes every 2 hours - about the same as you'd use the chopper, if it ran.
optional: wear the proper color-coordinated doo-rag or if a helmet state, put on your chrome nazi hat.

Al:

Steel arm will go out tomorrow. Snow storm (and wife) forced shift of priorities at home the past few days.
