Hello Court, maybe you can help me... I am looking to find a headlight manufacturer/PN that makes a headlight which comply with EU standards. I know the RSS was sold in Germany and so was the S3 (only until 99 I believe) so there must have been a headlight which passed european homologation. As far as I know there must be a E-Number on the lens (in the US only X1s have them, M2s and S3s don't). Can you help me to find a lead? I need to retrofit a RSS, a S2 and a S3. THANKS |

Hi I can help you with that my RSS is a German model, the headlight is made by Bosch, I think I have a second one I can lend you when you're back in Germany. No problem finding a headlight for the S3 they were on sale in Germany also and I know some German S2 owners who can help you with the S2. Just send me a mail: s.gschossmann@12move when you're back No problem with the TÜV :-) Best wishes Basti |

Basti, let us know what you find out regarding the S-2 as the stock US headlight was anemic to be generous. Another option is always nice. |

I have E-spec headlights in one of my Dodges, made by Hella. I'd have to measure to make sure they're the same size rectangle, but they have that nice E-code light pattern (i.e. USEFUL) and they're replaceable capsule lights - you don't replace the whole thing when it burns out, just the bulb. It'll sound stupid but check summitracing.com, jegs.com, or I think I've even seen them in jeepessentials.com. Make sure to get a light for a 2 light system (high and low beam together). |
