Court-
Saw you at Homecoming, but every time I looked over you had people talking to you. I truly did not want to bother you, so I never got a chance to shake your hand and say "thank you" for you help to me and other Buellers over the years.

So...thanks! and I hope to be able to run into you another day,
-Andy

Arrrrrggghhh .... You should have grabbed me! I had a fabulous time and am thrilled you were there.

This was certainly one of the best turn outs and one of my favorite Buell Homecomings of all time.

I'll be around some Buell events in the coming year and next time we cross paths I'll look forward to meeting you.

Thanks for making this event so special.

Court

Andy, you just have to hover around him a bit. Even if you don't get a chance to talk to him, you will hear amazing stories like running out of gas on Buells. How many times has that happened to you now Court? I can't keep track!

I was good seeing both of you.

It's all good... I kinda of felt like interjecting myself would have been for my own benefit, and I didn't want to be a bother : p ....guess I'll just have to attend another Homecoming! : )

I still can't believe the quality of the people we met there. Court did you happen to hear the story of our MN group's trip there? It was quite an adventure, but as we sat alongside the road with a set of wheel bearings gone bad on a Uly, and no one even thought about moving on without the rest of the group...it was apparent that it was a a different caliber of folk we were riding with!

...another guy in the group *happened* to have a spare set of bearings and a bearing puller (we JUST met up with him about 2 miles before!), and there just *happened* to be a John Deere shop across the road that pressed the bearings in (with a tech that had a very cool trick up his sleeve for removing the almost impossible to remove remainder of the old bearing...yup, he's done this before!). We were back on the road in under an hour!

That was just the beginning of our trip...it took us 12.5 hours to get from Minneapolis to East Troy!

What was the trick to removing the old bearing race? I've heard of welding a bead on the race, then when it cools the old race will almost fall out.

Dio, yes running a bead is standard procedure for removing outer bearing races.

Works on steel valve seats in cylinder heads also.

he actually welded a couple of washers to the race, stood the on end, torched the washers, threw a cup of water on them, lightly rapped the back side of the wheel with a rubber mallet and out she came!

Same here. Ive stood next to you at last years homecoming and the last ride but I didnt want to be a stalker so I wandered off. Oddly, Erik was easier to access. LOL! Mabey next time! I dont see either of us leaving the Buell scene anytime soon.
