There will be a XBRR entry in the 200 this year. It is a privateer effort. Depending on the reaction to this post there may be more information as our plans progress. regards ref |

I have no idea what Deeley's may or may not be doing. This effort has no connection. As I said it is a privateer effort. ref |

Out of curiosity, and not to start a war, given last years factory helped efforts and hoping you finish, what placing would you consider good if you make it to the finish, given you call this a 'privateer' effort? Rocket |

I think Rocket meant to say "Thats great news and we wish you the best, and we want to do whatever we can to help". He confused threads and picked the wrong one. I'll be rooting! |

just finish the race would be great, better yet a top 20. this is the most demanding race for the rider and the bike |

>>>>>I'll be rooting! As will many of us. This is excellent news. I guess I pretty well went on record, several months ago when I said quote:"this is not the end of Buell racing, it's the beginning".
That's an accurate statement. I won't have time to discuss it, but if there is anything I can do to help, drop me a note. Court |

Bill, because Bison said.... Depending on the reaction to this post there may be more information as our plans progress. That sounded to me like he was asking for questions so he could give that information he mentioned. I really wasn't trying to start a put down. But I am interested in knowing where they'll think they could place. Podium would have my ears pricked up. I couldn't care less if there's an XBRR running in the 200 if the effort is no more than a token entry. So I was hoping Bison might have answered with... "We might not have McWilliams on board, but we're confident we can run as strong as he did - and finish - but we could do with your lard arse piloting though Rocket" the last was humour - honestly Rocket (Message edited by rocketman on January 13, 2007) |

Well, I guess I'll elaborate. Bison Racing has asked me (Walt Sipp) to be the rider for the Daytona 200. We will be making a few other AMA FX races as well. Regarding an expected finishing position in the 200, that is somewhat of a loaded question. Most people who ask what your expected finishing position will be in a race such as that usually have no idea the level of commitment, money and risk involved in just attempting to qualify. Our goals are to have a Buell qualify and finish well, with an emphasis on finishing. Finishing "well" is as each individual defines it. As a racer and Buell enthusiast I'm very excited to have this opportunity. I hope all like minded "glass is half full" individuals will support us in our coming endeavors. Walt, my glass isn't half full. I admire your tenacity but racing for a finish is pretty lame. Ask Mario Ilien his expectations for next year. I know for a fact he would not be entering into any race if he thought a finish would be a good result. Count on me cheering you on, but not if finishing is an acceptable target. That XBRR is allegedly capable of a lot more in the right hands, and you certainly are those hands. Sorry but someone needs to say so when racing at this level. Rocket |

Walt: Congratulations. You'll be pleased to know I've received e-mails this afternoon from folks wanting to ante up and do whatever they can to support Buell Racing. Is there a place on your website where folks can make contributions? If not please let us know where. I'd at least like to say I put the front tire on the bike! Most of all thank you and congratulations. Court |

Walt, This is fantastic news. I met you at a track day in Topeka back in May. Larry and I were on our Lightnings. You will have lots of support from the Buell community, especially all those hooligans in Kansas City. Last year, when I was still living in KC, a bunch of us jumped into a truck and drove the whole way to Daytona for the 200. Please let us know if you need anything. There are many people on this board ready to help! Good luck! Drake |

Walt: Just a thought . . . This is going to snowball on you. I don't think some folks have any idea how much pent up excitement and enthusiasm there is for Buell Racing. You may want to consider snagging one of the rabid Buellthusiasts here and designating them "Grand Omnipotent Coordinator of all Incoming Help Sorta Stuff". You'll need to stay focused on your race program. I, starting Wednesday this week, am experiencing and significant "lifestyle alteration" and won't be able to coordinate things, but stand ready to help in anyway I can. Court |

Let me clarify one thing, as a racer I want to win. As Ricky Bobby would say, "If you're not first; you're last." Seriously though, I think that with the level of assistance we are receiving I think are chances of having a strong finish are good. Yes, there is apprehension regarding finishing and finishing position but I don't think it's just on our minds. I'm sure it's on the minds of Eric Bostrom (who has had more than one possible 200 victory snatched away by mechanicals), Jason DiSalvo (who let last year's 200 slip through his hands), Miguel Duhamel (whose experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows during his many runs at the 200) and all the other competitors. By no means would just finishing meet our goal, but that's racing - you take what it gives you. If we finish, but finish last that's still a better scenario than probably twenty guys who won't finish. And remember, I'm no Jeremy McWilliams. I probably wouldn't qualify to be his towel boy. However, I do have the drive, desire and commitment to give the race everything I have. And most of all...have fun! Thanks to everyone for there well wishes.
