Looks like Yamaha is planning on a big, blow-out "Farewell, Colin" celebration in Indianapolis Saturday evening. Can't miss that! Should be a hoot!!

I'm sure the recent shenanigans were because Crutchlow took up HIS option for the second year at Ducati in full knowledge that Ducati wanted Ianone on his bike and would have to buy him out of the deal.
I think it is a great move for him but he will have to be competing for podiums on a regular basis next year if he is to retain any credibility as a top level rider. The second year option is with Cecchinello.

I wonder if there is any truth about Jack Miller running an open bike in the same team?

What I have heard suggests it could be a done deal with HRC paying him to ride for LCR next year on a production Honda(although I have also heard he will be riding for Pons in Moto2).

The problem with that is that where does he go next if HRC are paying him? Marquez is unlikely to be moving anywhere else for the next 5 years at least, and will HRC want a team mate that will upset their current golden boy by 2016/17?
Yamaha are also courting Miller and it is just as likely that he will turn up to replace Bradley Smith at Tech 3 next year, with his wages paid directly by Yamaha.

Wherever he ends up in MotoGP it is a massive jump to make for him, and he could make himself look pretty average if it goes wrong. I think he would be much better served to do a year in Moto2 at least. Let's face it, he hasn't actually won anything yet other than 4 Moto3 races, and could trun out to be a flash int he pan like other Moto3 winners unable to make the jump to bigger bikes.

Well, it was confirmed today (to no one's surprise) that Lorenzo has re-upped with Yamaha. I guess the only "surprise" is that it is for a full two year deal (all the rumors were that he wanted an "out" option after just one year).

He's said all along he wanted to end his career with Yamaha, though, so I guess it wouldn't be a surprise.

Speaking of surprises... we're here at the Guest House Inn in Indianapolis. My friend and I walked across the parking lot to have dinner at a place called "Kazablanka." Guess who we saw having dinner over at the other table? Guy Coulon and Jeremy Burgess!

What's Jeremy Burgess doing in Indy? I thought he retired after he and Rossi went their separate ways?

It was reported a few weeks ago that Burgess would probably vist Indy this weekend as he visits friends in the area.

I wouldn't read too much into it, I doubt that Jerry will be making a comeback any time soon.

I think there's a bit of a game going on. Once Marquez hits the front it's become who's the best of the next best. Rossi seems to only want to consolidate his 2nd place in the title race, so letting Lorenzo go isn't that big of a deal.

I'll say this much though. How would Dovi do if the open Ducati had the hard tyre.......

Yeah, once Marquez hit the front, I went to grab lunch. No lines at the concessions. Watched what was pretty much a foregone conclusion from the steps before heading back down to my seat.

We had pretty good seats, too. As usual, the "B" Penthouse by Turn1, in Row "A" this year. It was also refreshing to hear something OTHER than the Spanish National Anthem for a change, thanks to Mika Kallio in Moto2. What's an old (32) guy like him doing racing with those young kids, anyway??

Our favorite "#93" didn't fare as well in her race, though she did manage to move up a couple of positions from her starting line up in Race #2. The rumor is next year's "Support Class" will be SIDECARS!! If that's true, I can't wait, that should be SICK!

sidecars? noooo! Shelina broke some good ground by running her fastest laps ever at Indianapolis! she was stoked. Dave Estok was going well in the restart of race 2 until Travis Wyman's sliding bike hit the #123 at the primary cover and drove Dave into the straightaway outside wall. Dave bounced off and somehow stayed upright and lost 4 places. Dave was able to pick off two spots and gaining on two more at the checkered flag to finish 8th. hoping to finish strong at NJMP. Another year of hearing the MotoGp races at Indy for Me! did see Bautista's crash though.

If you think the Moto GP races are boring once Marquez gets to the front, watching a Sidecar race will put you to sleep after the second lap.

Bring back MotoGP to Laguna Seca....a real race track. Does anyone REALLY think Indy is a good track or leads to good racing?

Ummm... YEAH! Did you not see the races this past weekend? And all of the riders (with the exception of Dani Pedrosa) praised the new layout and surface.

More importantly, Indianapolis has the facilities to house the ENTIRE MotoGP circus. Laguna Seca does not (which is why they never ran the sub-classes there). Indianapolis is easily accessible; you don't have to travel MILES on a two-lane road through the desert to get there.

67,000 people at Laguna, and it is filled to capacity. 67,000 at Indianapolis, and the place looks EMPTY.

Afraid the only thing going for Laguna as a race venue is the corkscrew (and the surrounding scenery). Indianapolis has it beat on just about every other category that matters to Dorna (MONEY!!!).

Yep, Indy is better for the $$$$, the garages, etc. however bottom line is Indy is a joke as far as a circuit. Bottom line. The riders might be giving some lip-service to the new surface and slight change of some of the corners, but I would bet they all prefer LS.

Ive been to both and as a spectator Id rather be at Laguna. Much much better atmosphere and way way better vendors and food. But I do understand what Jaime is saying for the arrangements for the teams. Laguna has elavation changes that makes the racing interesting. Laugna also has much better places as a spectator to watch. Indy I have been to 3 times. I go because its close. But im sorry its not Cali in any way

Fresno, it's obvious that you've never been to the Speedway.

Isn't Laguna off because it couldn't make ever increasing safety requirements? Or was that just part of an excuse....

It was one of many reasons I remember reading about. I think there was also an issue of the owners being able to pay Dorna's fees, too.

Yep, have no desire either. Please enlighten me to the allure of MotoGP at Indy.

And yes I am jaded and pissed off that MotoGp left Laguna Seca (if you can't tell.) Laguna is absolutely magical as far as the area and the atmosphere. I am glad we camped out for the weekend the last several Gps. World Superbike is nice, but it's no GP.

Besides the area between turns 4 & 5, were there any other spots that were "dangerous"?
