My stock XB battery finally died so I need a replacement for the race bike.

Since I have to buy a new one it might as well be as light as possible. I want one that will start the bike, cold, I don't want to have to deal with a possible problem if it stalled on the line.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated : )

Speedcell... or stock.

Speedcell is $250-ish but barely weighs anything.

Stock aint light but has PLENTY of cranking power for 2 races, 2 starts with NO charging system.

Thanks, Steve,
I'm running the factory charging system. I'll look into the Speedcell but at that price maybe I should work harder at losing the weight off myself, first!

I actually paid good money for the Speedcel. Loaned it to Higbee for the season last year. Still run the stocker for my XB racer. IF Higbee can keep one of his 1125's racing next year, he'll keep the Speedcel, otherwise I'll have it back in my bike.

I never tried it out in 2 races without charging in between (but it WAS sized for that scenario)

Both the YUASA YTZ7S and YTZ10S batteries have been used on the 1125R's (with considerably higher compression than the XB's) without problems. The 7S battery may be marginal, but it is significantly lighter than stock and the 10S should work without issue and is also lighter than stock, I don't remember how much off the top of my head though.
