Ha-ha, don't get me lying. If I knew something I would post it. He is a hard kid to get a hold of. But I will be calling him this weekend. I do hope he is on the Buell again though.

Please . . . DON'T do that. There is a lot going on and it's be a shame to upset anyone's apple cart.

I wouldn't tell anything that wasn't public knowlage. I would not want to spoil anyones deals. I have been in positions like that myself with sponsorship deals and such. Don't worry. Danny is to important to me as family to even come close to soiling a deal for him. Besides, I live in Canada now and only get to see him once a year if I am lucky. I don't even talk to him that much. Court, just so you know, I know nothing about any deals he might be working on. As a matter of fact, how do we close this thread. I regret even starting it.

Not to worry . . . closing a thread on the internet is like tossing a rock through a plate glass window.

Try as you may . . . standing inside and throwing the rock back out won't fix the window.

I'd not worry. Danny and all the folks involved are professionals. His life changed this year and part of what makes him so special is that he is not your run of the mill wound up, whining race boy. Danny is a class act and has a very bright future. I am so proud of what he and the folks at Buell have done.

I hope everyone involved works hard, does there best and that next year is just as exciting as this year has been.

To true about Danny. He has been like that his whole life. I have never heard him say a bad word about anyone. He has always had a smile on his face and a handshake ready. I am beyond proud of him for everything he has done and for everything that Buell has done. I was at the plant last month and all I can say is WOW. That company is great. Everyone there had the same winning attitude. You can tell by the attention to detail the workers there put into their job that they care about what rolls off the line. The bikes are not just numbers to them. Danny has the same intensity and attitude in how he rides and interacts with the fans.

I hope Danny is on a Buell again next year, but he'll have two fans (me and one of my kids who liked to stay up late and watch him race) no matter what he is riding...

One of the classiest and most talented athletes I have ever seen...

I suspect that Danny, as a racer, enjoys a real kinship with Erik Buell and all the folks who built his bike. Most of them are real racers at heart. That passion he'll not find anywhere but Buell.

Good things come to those who wait!.
He is defenetly the face of Buell Racing.
I see great things in the future of Buell and if Danny sticks with Buell specially as buell develops more and more their Bikes he would be the man for those opportunities. Good luck to Danny and Buell; )

FWIW, I have had several career "forks" where I had to choose between passion for the work or money in the bank, and every time I took the "love" route instead of the "money" route.

No surprise that I am very happy with my work. The surprise was that the extra security and personal peace that came along with doing what I am passionate for made the $$ gap much smaller then I expected.

I hope Danny sticks with Buell. The combination is something special.

FWIW I was just on the improved Richie Morris Racing website and it listed Danny as their only rider. No mention of Barney. Maybe Danny will be back with RMR next season.

From talking to other family members I have heard that Danny has been really busy since his win. Nothing new about his future, but just that he has been a busy boy. No wonder I haven't been able to get a hold of him. The one thing that I do know is no matter what bike he is on next year there will still be more of his backing it in for a long time to come.

What a blow to everyone involved in Buell in any way. I was just at the factory last month and was really impressed with the people working there. I am saddened that they will now be losing their jobs. That place was full of life and you could tell that they were putting everything they had into what they did. We as a Buell enthusiasts have lost a lot. But the country has lost not just an American success story, but a true American dream. My heart was breaking when I heard Eric announce the news. I could tell that he felt everything he has worked so hard for has been thrown away. I hope with all my heart that something can be done to bring back this iconic brand.

I agree with you Backcountry Buell is an American dream just like HD was when AMF bailed them out. The funny thing is HD quality back then was horrible to say the least. HD could keep the dream alive if they wanted, simple rebadge the bikes and offer them as an additional HD line. I have owned HD since 1990 and I bought my first Buell in 1996 because they were associated with HD. If HD expects us to support them in their future they have to support us the consumer who followed them into Buell. I currently own 1 HD and 3 race Buells, whats up HD where is your tradition?

I would personally rather not see the HD name on a Buell. Eric worked hard to make his dream happen.

Danny signed with Suzuki

Sources tell me Buell had everything in line for a winning team again next year as late as Wednesday talking plans over when Thursday 15Oct hit.

We're still racing up America's mountain in Pikes Peak Internatinoal Hillclimb on Buells in 2010. That much I know.

After High Country, it's all down hill.

Wow are you confused Jamin.

Danny signed with rmr a few days before HD made their decesion regarding Buell.

With Buell no longer being in production, rmr sought out another mfg to best move their team along into the future. The team decided it was in the best interest of the team and their sponsors to go with Suzuki.

Eslick was never signed with Buell, he was and is signed with rmr.

Ps, there are threads all over, including one by Richie Morris himself in this forum with your breaking news, only difference is it's accurate and makes sense.

I was under the impression there had to be so many bikes of a particular model in production in order to participate in AMA classes. I would love to see Buell continue to compete, but under the current circumstances will they be allowed? Maybe Eric could produce a street version of the race bike? Seems like it would be difficult to make a successful business just catering to club racing.

BendaLionsFan

Thanks for putting me in my place from my gross errors that were so far off base.

But unless I am missing something, RMR and Danny Eslick are riding Suzuki next season not Buell which is no different than what I said. The rest is superfluous, albeit somewhat more accurate. But I also do not see where I said that Danny signed with or rode for Buell so your Ps. is inaccurate and makes no sense.

As for the timeliness, yeah, RMR posted herein 20Nov, I responded to the question on this thread title before seeing that.

I was under the impression there had to be so many bikes of a particular model in production in order to participate in AMA classes. "

I may be mistaken and I am sure there are more vital specific details that BenDaLionsFan can respond with which escape me but I do believe there are allowances for a number of years a bike can be raced once it meets homolgomation requirements. The Loki platform probably has two, maybe three years of AMA racing left.

But if this post response to an old thread generates interest to get the whole story out, my work here is done. I'm thick skinned enough not to be concerned with less than cordial responses if the information is shared as a result.
