Check out the "Hearing Notice and notice of Completion" for location...

We've been talking about it on the WSMC BBS. http://www.wsmcbbs.info/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=9061

It could be interesting in that a NEW track just a few miles from the country's oldest purpose-built roadracing track - might get the locals all huffy because of "noise."

We've already heard objections to the Willow track (yeah, I know it's 10 miles from NOWHERE but somebody ALWAYS gets bent because of "noise") - and there are complaints about the Rosamond Airport.

I wonder WHY the folks want to put in a new race course so close to Willow?

Just wondering out loud...

Next race is 3rd Sunday Sept (20 Sep)

I'll be trying out the slipper clutch... hope it's all OK - it's going to be a new experience.

Higbee will be out for the weekend since the bike he races out West is a different one than he'll race in NJMP.

All I do is try and NOT get lapped by Higbee in the short 8-lap race!

with the slipper clutch you will loose the "scenic" "nice to see" "traverse" corner entering .....of course that's a smart upgrade especially on a xb where i personally experienced too much engine breaking ( in extreme downshifting), sometimes i was able to close the corner ...sometimes i went to the sand ...once i "went" over another bike, making the other rider really happy.
a question for you ,( consider i'm
an XBS REAL fan especially for the harley-like engine) have you ever considered to swap the xb race bike for a 1125 ?? i ask you this because i had a look at your races and the classes you race every time you post it and it seems to me that you race always under penalties except few classes . maybe i'm wrong and things and rules are more sophisticated than they looks to me.
Again...in my little experience i found out that you can pump-up the xb (9 or 12) as much as you want but on medium and fast tracks every little damned 600-4 ridden by slower riders passed me on every straight longer than 150 200 meters.
Anyway i consider that bike like the best circuit-riding learning tool.
20-sept-09 i'll cross my fingers for you.
bye Alessio

In the Club racing at Willow Springs, the fact that it is air-cooled allows me to compete in 6 different classes. The 1125R is more limited.

I usually compete in 3 twins classes (middleweight, heavyweight and Formula Twins) and the Formula 50 (for 50 year old)

The bike is also legal to compete in 750 superbike and a couple other classes - but it is just not competitive.

Because I am Club racing, the decisions are different than if I were racing for prize money.

The bike is well sorted, predictable... and since my last wreck, the motorcycle is now 15 seconds per lap faster than I am!
