There is an ad currently running in the North/Central Florida Cycle classified mag stating a dealer is selling all remaining '08 1125R's for $9,999! I don't know if this is the same elsewhere, but don't they usually MSRP at $11,999? Just wanted to pass it along for those who like the 1125R. |

I know which dealer that is. This is the same dealer where the Buell Demo route was 4 straights, seperatated by 4 right hand turns at traffic lights... The same dealer who several years back could not identify a missing drive sprocket seal on my 1998 S1W... The same dealer that this year I overheard a salesman trying to sell a bagger to a guy that was interested in a ULY... The same dealer who could not perform the proper warranty service on PaulXB12r's bike... The same dealer that has a Buell store, but no staff ever in it... The same dealer I will gladly by-pass and go to BadWeb Sponsor Gainesville H-D/ Buell, for parts, service or warranty work. Go where you like, but I would not recommend that dealer... Sometimes it is just better to pay a little more to get better service. (Message edited by Paint shaker on August 05, 2008) |

Never had any experience with them... but I'm not surprised. There's three HD/Buell dealers here in Jacksonville, and each has struck out with me. The first (Regency) refused to do any service on my '97 S1 because they "didn't have an oil filter to fit it". The second (Orange Park) had a tech tell me that I wouldn't have cold start problems with my '02 X1 White Lightning if I would "remember to use my choke"... imagine his face when I asked him to show it to me. Even worse- he had just finished a complete service on a bike he did not know was fuel injected! Third, and final (Baymeadows), after a service on my '03 XB9R I discovered in the comments section of the RO they added: "warranty may be void for using customer's Amsoil" instead of HD SYN-3. I politely reminded them of the Magnusson-Moss Act, and that they were breaking Federal Law by making such a threat. It should come as no surprise that my '08 XB12R was purchased from Rossmeyer's Daytona HD/Buell. The ad caught my attention because I have never seen a HD dealer discount anything before... either their or Buell's product. Really made me wonder about the sales numbers. It got me thinking- I've never seen an 1125R on the road, and this is a pretty big city. Seems like a decent price for a race bike, though. |
