Could a person that has an 07' and ECMSpy download their ECM code to a file and then make it available to others (free and electronically over the internet ) who also have ECMSpy and want to reflash their 06' ECM ??? | ||

Yes please, Fetch maps and save to a file. Your suppose to do that any way, before you mess with anything or make changes. Just in case you need to put it back to stock. | ||

I finally get my bike back tomorrow and will have my ECMSpy cable finish this weekend. I can save a copy of my map and make it available to those who want it. Mine is an '06 that is flashed to '07 if that works for you. | ||

Hi, I have used ECMSpy and like it. I also bought VDSTS and I get inconsistent connections to my old laptop, not so with ECMSpy. I downloaded my ECM data for my 2007 and can provide it for use too. I was wondering about getting a race ECM download and uploading it to my stock 2007. Anyone done this yet? Thanks | ||

I too would be interested in obtaining the ECM data maps for an 07 to compare them to my 06. I purchased the VDSTS and have the same experience as Glenn has had - inconsistent connections. ECMSpy works better for me as well. The ability to save the stock maps is indispensable. Software that I paid $200 for should work better than software I got for free.  | ||

I just ordered the parts to build a cable. Once I get it built, I have a race ecm and an unmodified '06 ecm (U.S. spec) that I can grab the maps for. Is there some particular place people are posting this collection of maps? Does anyone know for sure if the race map will work on the original ecm? I ask this because of the race ecm not having the ability to use the servo. | ||

For those of you that are afraid of trying ECMSpy, there is nothing to fear. I am not a computer geek and I was able to get the necessary stuff downloaded and then get it to work. I bought the cable from a fellow BadWebber "dbosh" for under $35 shipped to my door. If you have pay a bit more than that it is still well worth it. I was able to verify that my timing was spot on and I reset the TPS. The dealer would of charged me more than that for just a TPS reset. If you run into any problems or don't understand something then all you need to do is ask here on BadWeb. We shall get you through it, no sweat. By the way, it is a really neat software that is easy to use. | ||

FYI, I have been emailed a few times about a cheaper pin source, but they are not cheaper. My cables use the solid pins not the stamped ones. I chose those for the quality and lifespan they offer over the stamped ones. That place is $7.53 for solid pins. The Ebay source is only $7.00 That's is also why I had to go $40 to cover the additional cost and I use all Priority mail for shipping to me and to others to cut down on delivery times. It looks like everyone snagged up my Ebay deal though so I will be ordering from them anyways. | ||

I have another question, Will the cable that came with VDSTS work with ECM spy? I am assumeing the answer is no since it hasn't been mentioned yet. I just havn't had time to test it my self yet. | ||

I believe it was said that the VDSTS cable will work. I also have my EEProm and fuel maps if anyone wants them. '06 ECM with '07 Reflash. The EEProm is only 2KB and the Fuel map is 3KB. Lot of stuff going on in there. I have to reread the FAQ on tuning to decipher it properly, but I have some big changes next to each other and I remember the tuning guide talked about eliminating those. What is everyones Cold Start Enrichment% at? Mine was around 164. | ||
