Thank you, Geopatr, I will do. If anyone, from all over the world is interested in joining me for that trip, please contact me. I'm from Germany and had shipped my Road King to the US in 2003 for the 100th and rode Route 66 from Chicago to LA afterward. Have been to Alaska in 2005 on a cruise. That is were the idea was born. Have been to Sturgis this year on a rental bike from Milwaukee. Ride safe Werner |

I recall a couple different guys here who reported riding the AlCan highway on their Uly. |

No, but I did it 2-up on a Vmax, so the Uly should be a breeze. |

I rode from Minnesota to Alaska this July. Took Cassiar Hwy. to Watson Lake then on to the Arctic circle. The return trip took us down the entire Alcan. The road is pretty nice pavement all the way. Extended fuel capacity is recommended but probably not needed. I had a five gallon fuel cell which gave me a range of >400 miles, there was only one time where a gas station was closed where I might not have made it to the next gas on the stock fuel.
This was taken on the Cassiar Hwy in western B.C.
This is in Dawson Creek, B.C. the end of our ride on the Alcan. |

Thanks for the information, Lduly Sounds pretty good. Like you pictures. Ride safe Werner P.S You look like a big guy, having my size. For me the Uly is the only Buell that does not look like a Mini bike. |

Gruss Gott Werner, Sounds like a great trip you're planning I spent a few years riding in, and around, Bad Aibling and Garmisch. I really miss the camping trips to Chiemsee. |

Hi Bigdaddy, guess you did your oversea tour here? I live about 25 miles from the Chiemsee. But I'm going there only in spring or fall. Too many tourists fidel with their cages in summer. And with everybody having a GPS, you find them on the secret side roads as well. But you will understand why I bought the Uly. Ride safe Werner |

Yea, something like that. I spent about 5 years in Augsburg and BA combined and over 10 years in the Eifel. |

Hey Werner! I was in Aschaffenburg in the '80s Good times!!!!! I like beer! Anyway, my wife and I were on a rented Uly in Alaska in June. Fantastic trip! We didn't ride the Alcan but from what I've heard it's no problem. The Arctic Circle was a true adventure. Wow, I miss Alaska!

I am living in Kaiserslautern Germany now, but we have a house in Eagle River Alaska. When I retire from the USAF in 2008 I will ship my Uly to Kentucky and ride it up to Alaska where we'll spend the rest of our days. Y'all have a safe trip!! Tank |

You will enjoy your trip, we did a 2200 mile loop this summer and had a fantastic time. It rained about 1 hour in 9 days, got maybe two mosquito bites and ate the best salmon of my life damn near every day. We rented bikes out of Anchorage (Alaska Rider), excellent folks and I do believe they have a Uly. (I tried a Strom). That being said, don't expect 5 star hotels, but you will find clean basic rooms in either small lodges or b&b's. If you can, you must stay at the Aurora Express in Fairbanks, you get to stay in a really neat train car and have a excellent breakfast, check out their website or talk to Mike! Enjoy.... |

I bought my Uly from the dealer in Anchorage. I flew in on June 18 and rode it home to Dallas. Total was 5302 miles. advrider.com is down at the moment or I'd provide you a link to my ride report. If you're interested, you should be able to find it by going to the Ride Reports section of advrider.com and searching for the thread title "Me and the Uly, Anchorage to Dallas". |
