Update: the bike is in the shop and last I heard they were charging the battery... Another update soon.

My experience with the local H/D shop was VERY negative. After I got my money back ( with the requsite long delay) I see no reason to part with my hard earned bucks there at all. Buell needs to dump Hardley Abelson. Sooner is better.

Thank you all for the help. The dealer found a pin on the connector to the fuel pump was messed up and they repaired it. Once that was done the low fuel light went out and problem fixed.

From what I gather the low fuel light was being triggered due to a fault in the fuel subsystem. I do not know if this is a new thing with the 08s or if it is the case with all of the uly's.

So the award goes to Davo for the wiring harness suggestion.

Thanks again to all of you who tried to help me out. I am still going to call buell customer care and discuss the issues that I had.

The shame here is the dealer could have fixed it last weekend and chose not to...

Was this the dealer over the hill to the west of you?

Not really, just went there (Glendale) a couple of times to look at new bikes. Other than recalls I have been able to do all my own work.
One of the features that drew me to the Buell. That and reasonable priced parts... at least so far.
