Sovie,s Motor Sports called Friday to tell me that after a month they had got the 07 air box cover in that I ordered. Odd thing is I had a B-Day party to go to about 10 mins from there shop yesterday so I figured I would stop in and pop it on and get the ECM flash.

I walk in the front watching as some guy mows the lawn with shit going all over peoples bikes outside. Get ignored at the front desk, told I am not on file, "has to ask John about this" (only 1 that may have a clue there). They find the cover, so I ask about the ECM and John said bring it around.

I am then told after 5 mins of "where is the hookup??" that it can not be flashed to set the air/fuel ratio to 07 levels. ?????? I say OK and RUN THE HELL OUT OF THERE. I did not want them to touch my bike anymore.

Question, can a HD place that does not sell Buells do the flash, do they have the software?

Sad....

I wonder if Buell has ever considered providing a tech manual for their bikes for free. That way, we could read it for ourselves then take it to the HD dealer and say, "Here, follow these instructions you idiot." LOL! : )

I have the 07 box on 06 bike with no reflash..bike runs perfect. I was thinking if you add more air(07 box) the fuel injection will "adjust" and add more gas...so bike runs faster but uses more gas. ...Then if you put it "back" to EPA specs with the reflash maybe it will just run like an 06 with a big airbox.

you can have the harley dealer flash an 06 ecm to the new 07 program but you have to use a vin number from an 07 to let you access the software... Thats how i got my 06 flashed with the 07 program... I like my dealer

Horridus,

Contact Andy at Appleton HD (BadWeb Sponsor). You can overnight it to them. They will do the 07 reflash and send it overnight back to you.

I don't think they charge more than $15-25 bucks to do it.

Does that mean I need to ride to the "Cheese Head" state to a reflash done?

I called my local "Buell" dealer today since I had a question about the clutch adjustment. The tech told me....and I quote "NO, you are doing it wrong, turn it CW until you feel resistance then back it off a 1/4 turn CCW." So I ask if this means I should completely disregard everything the service manual tells me?

I do not get it. This is the first bike in a LONNGGG time that I absolutely LOVE. Why O Why do so many of the HD dealers have to basically suck sack when it comes to the Buells. So instead of waiting for a response in the knowledge vault. I let my adjustment per the manual stand. Finished re-routing the wires at the steering head....and went for a quick 100 mile cruise....with plenty of one wheeled antics thrown in for the viewing pleasure of every weee one I came across. I wish all adults loved the wheelies as much as kids do. We could do them at will.
