As most of you know my Uly is broken, today makes a week, and still all my local dealer can tell me is they still don't know whats wrong with my bike. I saw the front plug wire yesterday, and it is bad, it was worn half-way through...I think this was most likely the only problem, at first. Now since they have replaced the front injector the bike runs like crap, WHAT WOULD YOU DO, or is there someone out there listening in that can call these guys and help out...

Why did they replace the injector? The plug wire was shorting out right? If so, then most likely the spark plug has fouled and is only hitting once in a while with the new wire on it. Also, the ECM may need to have the AFV reset because it could have seen the massive unburned fuel and set to AFV to compensate.

I'd say have them replace the spark plug and reset the AFV in the ECM. Then ride it and see what happens.

I gave Mike a call and he's done all the right stuff so far but the spark plug wire he installed is a different resistance than the other one. He said he needs to get the factory wires for it and thinks that will fix it. I tend to agree because it is a single fire system and differences between the two wires would likely cause wierd problems. I think he's on the right track so be patient. They're swamped with work and he's doing the best he can at the moment.

He did change the plugs and he did re-set the AFV in the ECM.

Hope he gets it going for you soon!

Did he tell you he had a new 06 there to swap parts...and that he has yet to order a
wire set...I work in a new car dealership, and if we took a week to change someones wires....well hey...you know where I'm going with this....thanks alot for the help...

You can get a set of magnacores for under 30 bucks, and never have a wire problem again.

Or you can wait for them to order a stock replacement, and then you can wait on it to fail.

The guys were nice enough to listen to me and talk to me even though early on they figured out I wasn't from Buell C.S.

I know a week is a long time and I'm not saying they should be given reprieve. Just that sometimes things work like that. I have rarely been able to get my bike back in less than two weeks even for simple stuff. Always a parts issue even when I've tried to get them to order in advance of the service. It never fails to amaze me how they get away with it but what can you do.

Bitch and moan and all you get is even worse service or a bad rep for yourself in the process.

Sometimes just being nice about it can make a world of difference.

This time of year with a holliday weekend coming up they are obviously slammed and even though you have a real problem, I'm sure they have a lot of people crying for quick basic service so your problem IS probably being put on a back burner to get the crybabies out of their hair.

Is if fair or right? NO. But that's the breaks sometimes and I'm sure you can understand the kind of people they have deal with. The poser crowd with nothing better to do but raise holy hell because they want their oil changed NOW!

I hope they get you going but maybe they can give you a demo bike to ride in the meantime? Never hurts to ask. Give them a bleeding heart story like it's your only transportation or something like that and maybe you'll get lucky.

I've often thought of wrenching but when I see what these guys have to put up with, I don't see how it could be worth the hassle.
We're out riding on beautiful days while they are busting ass and getting bitched at at the same time.

I know this probably doesn't make you feel any better but try to have a little faith.

Thanks for everything Steve,I guess the truth of the matter stings a bit...If they had told me what was really going on here I may have been a little more patient. No one likes being put on the back burner...

No truer words spoken. "Back-in-the-Day" if a customer gave us a bunch of crap, they were sent packing.

Evileye, unless that donor ULY is being delivered to a customer today, you might suggest installing the good plug wires from it
to get you rolling... you know the rest.

THey did take the wire from the donor bike today...found out that my O2 sensor was bad also...it's on order now will keep you posted...that's an injector, a plug wire and now o2 sensor...WTF
