I am looking into an exhaust for my Uly (06). I would like a better sound, but would like to keep the db's low. I don't want to make too much noise in the woods when riding there. What exhausts is everyone using?
The names that pop up are Drummer and Special OPS. On a side note, do you have to reset the TPS or anything like that after installation? My dealer is 300 miles away and I don't get there too often but would like to install the exhaust sooner than my trip to the dealer.

Thanks,
AR

I just got my Drummer. It is the best sounding in my opinion, but it is also very LOUD. It is extremely deep sounding, but again once on the throttle it is loud. It also makes the bike pull like a freight train from 1500RPM up. I have to make an effort to keep the front tire down now. A tps reset is only necessary if you change out the ECM with the exhaust.

I like the idea of keeping my old pipe just in case I want to run stock. I rode with Fat Bastard and others last Friday and really liked the sound of his Buell race exhaust. I check ebay several times a week and just won a bid on a barely used Buell race pipe. I hope to get it by this Friday. I have the VDSTS and will give resetting my TPS a try. I have had a race ECM on hand for several months and will install it at the same time.

Another rider had the econo drummer. This would be the way to go if you dont want to change the ECM and keep the exhaust valve in place.

Most of these pipes are pretty loud when you get on it hard but are cruisable if you hold back.

I also heard a Jardine last week and it was pretty tinny sounding at hi revs. I also hear they need to be repacked from time to time.

I just got done talking with Kevin Drummer. I was/still thinking of getting one of his SS mufflers for my '06 Uly.

But he is really back logged and said delivery is out two months or so! Wow!

What's one to do? I keep hearing from people that the Drummer is the deepest sounding pipe. So that's what I want but...two months?

David

My Drummer took about 3 weeks, but it wasn't the SS, just the original Drummer. I won a CityX exhaust on Ebay had it shipped straight to Drummer for conversion and just swapped it out with my stock pipe. That way I could save the stock in case I needed it for anything. I removed the exhaust valve cable (and broke it in the process) and left the actuator in place until I can get my Race ECM to connect to VDSTS or replaced. I have to say I'm running the stock ECM with '07 airbox and flash, a K&N, and the Drummer and it runs amazing. The best part is that my bike sounds better than all the Harley's with aftermarket exhausts at work and they are bigtime jealous.

American Sportbikes had at least one original Drummer on the shelf a couple weeks ago. They now have one less. Send the core back to Drummer for the refund.

My advice is buy a XB muffler off ebay and send "it" to Kevin or Odie to be modded. There are 2 benefits to this, one you retain the stock Uyl muffler "just in case" and two you have zero down time on your bike.

Do a search under buell exhaust on ebay. There are several up for sale including a used Drummer.
