Does someone know if the March 06 manufacture dates are included in the recall?

Thanks!

1. You should have received the notice long ago, mine arrived within a week of the recall and my dealer actually called me before the notice arrived!

2. Call Buell Customer Service with your VIN ready and you'll get the info!

Xb: Don't own it yet! Dealer is oblivious. Just trying to find out if March 06 is in the recall range. Probably so, since the recall occurred much after it arrived down here.

Mine is a MARCH 06 build and it was not part of the recall.

The fixit kit p/n L1167.1AK that I've posted about was dated 02/06, since it is intended as an original-type replacement I'm assuming Buell was aware of at least one of the stand problems (the pivot bolt, replaced by a pivot pin in the kit) so I can't see where a 03/06 bike would have the troublesome bolt-type.

However the mounting bracket bolts are also part of the recall and you can't do a visual to check that.

I suggest you call the dealer or go by and get the VIN and call Buell customer service. Then rest easy.

Have the dealer run the VIN thru HDnet,
That will tell you and them if it needs to be fixed.
They would've got a list of all in stock, not sold bikes that are affected.
They cannot sell a bike that in involved in the recall without fixing it first

Or
You could just come up to WI and get one from me!

I never received a notice at all, but my purchasing dealer made sure I knew about it before I ever left with the bike. I believe I was one of the first to get the recall done since I managed to score one while out of town on vacation and my bike was the first kit that dealer did. I only knew about the recall because of this forum before I went to purchase the bike.

I just got my recall notice, the local dealer said he'd need it all day, what's involved in the repair that would take so long????????

Maybe the technicians at your dealer work really slow? It involves taking the chin fairing off and removing the exhaust can. Remove and replace sidestand assembly (2 bolts). Replace exhaust clamp and front strap and re-assembly. Shouldn't take more than an hour.
