Is there a p/n difference I need to know so I make sure the dealer orders the '07 low seat and not the '06 one? |

Well, I got an '07 seat yesterday and was all excited to try it out. Popped the old seat off, put the new seat on, and could not get it to latch!! I spent a good half hour trying to fit it to the bike, but for the life of me, I could not get it to latch. It's funny because the stock '06 seat does not fit the bike as nicely, but it latchs into place without any effort whatsoever. The '07 seat has no gaps at either the front or the rear, fits nice against the frame rail, but I can not latch it!! I even loosened up the latch bolts for better alignment, bounced on the seat, and prayed for the Nauga the gave his life making the seat, but nothing helped. I guess that I'm going to have to shim the latch to get the seat to work. This is just an FYI to folks out there ordering the seat, and dealers upgrading people's bikes, it may not just "bolt right on". |

Teeps, I saw it, thanks. I figured that I'd re-iterate it. I think that I'm going to have to shim the latch rearward to make it work... James |

I'll see if I can make some time to take pictures tomorrow... I got the seat installed, ended up shimming the latch about 1/8" rearward to get it to latch. I think that if I didn't have saddlebags, I might have had enough free play in the latch mounting holes to just shift the latch rearward... I love the '07 seat, and my wife finds it more comfy too. She likes the other material on the passenger section more than the stock '06 material. I find the seat firmer (that's a good thing), no more annoying seams, and I can flat foot the bike on level ground now (32" inseam). James |

so, is it a "standard" 07 seat or an 07 low seat??? |

The standard 07 seat is lower than the standard 06 seat, but not as low as the optional low seat. Jeez, this will be the biggest PITA in the years to come..... |

Imagine what it will be like when the '08 motorcycles come out... BTW, it's an '07 Standard Seat... |

I have had the new seat over a week and like it. Out of the box it did not latch as my original 06 seat but I pressed pretty hard on the back and it latched. Now it seems to latch with less effort. I think it is taking the shape of the bike over time. I did not change or install any kind of modified support structure or blocks. I hope that is ok. |

Alchemy, I think those bottom pans do eventually conform to the bike they are mounted on. I had a heck of a time getting my low seat to fit. Months later, it clicks in place without issue. Just make sure the tabs up front line up. The one issue that still exists is the fact that the tail pad does not really sit as flat folded forward as the factory one did. |
