I finally finished writing the trip report covering my 4,100-mile trip from New Mexico to Florida (and back) during mid-May. It is VERY wordy (it was written mainly for relatives) and has 50 pictures (not real good scenery on that trip) but some of you might find it interesting. The Uly performed flawlessly and I had an absolutely wonderful time. The Laminar Lip was perfect. Now off to Colorado (Pagosa Springs) for a family vacation (I'm riding, Mrs. Dr_Greg is driving the family). Hope to get a couple rides in. |

Excellent report! I glad you have a good experience in that Days Inn in Mountain View; I had a less-than-stellar experience. If you ever come back this way (you should, you missed some really awesome roads) let me know and I'll point out some other hotel options. |

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! You should have turned east on the skyway in Tellico Plains for the trip to Deals Gap. A must ride if ever in the area again. The skyway has less traffic and is just as much fun as the Dragon. If our schedule permits, we will be there in the middle of August before school starts again. Outstanding trip and writing! |

Man, you rode right through my back yard and I didn't know it. I could have given you guys some routes that would have had you looking over your shoulders to see through the turn. Sounds like you had a nice trip and you enjoyed my Tennessee home. Deal's Gap and the Cherohala get all the talk, but there are roads all over the state like those with less traffic and no cops. Sorry you missed the Cherohala. It is a thing of beauty, but ride it the wrong time of day and you get stuck behind cars and packs of cruisers. You have to hit it early in the morning. It is God's country...evident from all the churches. |
