I'm leaving tomorrow for Wisconsin. I'm staying at the Country Inn in Appleton. Gonna do the factory tour with Daves and his group then back to the dealership for some food and fun. Sadly, I'm not taking the bike. 711 miles one way, of straight, boring slab chewing up the center of my rear Diablo is not my idea of a fun ride. I'm spoiled by the uber twisties we have here in Tennessee. Rode about 300 miles of them yesterday. So, I'll be loading up the Explorer and heading up. I'm bringing my V-Strom riding friend. We'll have to serve him up some Kool-Aid. Daves, you got a demo fleet? I told him to bring his gear. LOL! |

I'll be at the factory Friday. Then off to ride for the weekend. Too bad on not bringing the bikes. WI isn't such a bad place to ride as you might think. |

I'm planning on being there. The little voice in the back of my head is telling me to take the Electraglide. Sirius Radio, throttlelock and wont have to buy a new tire when I get home. |

Not to mention I'm not 100% confident that I wont make it out of MD without my arse going numb from the seat on the ULY. The Eglide has a nice air ride seat.. |

I have done a couple 700 mile days on the Uly, and it has never bothered my butt at all. Best dang stock seat ever on a motorcycle. YMMV |

Grimace, Good to meet you buddy! Now, invest in a can of rust-o-leum for that muffler and get some more HP out of that 72hp beast. |

So, how was it? I went in the morning, looked around, factory tour, etc... Then it hit me, the day was perfect, it was already noon, I couldn't take it anymore. I went for a ride. Sorry I missed you guys. |

I looked for you, but never saw you. I guess we got there around noon or so. Probably just missed you. Weather was perfect all weekend. I've GOT to do a track day at Road America. That track looks like a lot of fun. |

11 years at this place, I run the risk of getting canned for porn on my PC by reading Chad's trip report. :P |

There was no porn in that link. Just a lady "positioning her top". How could that be classified as porn? LOL! |

Good pics and a great story Chad. I can't remember meeting you but I was slightly intox'ed a good bit of the time (Grimace would only do one shot of to-kill-ya, if only he was an 11C).

you guys make it sound WAY too easy. 'ya just hop on the bike, ride like he**, and come to the homecoming.". Wish I COULD have come, but from BC, It'd take 3-4 days of iron butt riding just get there !! Dont even get me started on what it'd take to get across the border! ( I'm in Canada, but hold a british passport...probably add another day and a half each way!) ah well, maybe next year i'll have to arrange my vacation time earlier in the year, and come down. probably not quite the read thread to ask - but is there a west coast based buell get together at all? ( better still, from my perspective, any canadian bashes?) looks like everyone had fun - kind of what Buells, and Badweb are all about, IMHO chris |

" that doesnt sound like me at all, but i will defer to your age and say that next year, if there is one, will be a different showing. i had never met any of you before so i tried to keep it a pretty mellow friday night. remember, 2100hrs. gotta love the Juarez. mortars in inches lmfao, whoda' thunk it...hello, this is 1942 calling and it wants a four deuce mortar team. btw, wtf happened to hargis? dude shows up and disappears like freakin' casper when it was time for cocktails. i thought the country inn was fine for a central location. seems to be fine for next year xept' were going to need more chairs for the front stoop as well have plenty of beer and liquor for the 9pm cut off...and coolers, dont forget the coolers and a class c fire extinguisher. till next year. chris (Message edited by grimace308 on June 08, 2006) |

"probably not quite the read thread to ask - but is there a west coast based buell get together at all? ( better still, from my perspective, any canadian bashes?) " Watch the Northwest storm fronts section. They do the SPLASH run, SPort Lap Around Saint Helens in Washington state, I think they still do a Border Run up to B.C. every year or so. They do run a variety of bikes though, not Buell specific, more like bike focused riders who just like to ride, mostly on the road with an occasional ditch thrown in for excitement . There is also Laguna for the big race weekend where a lot of people gather and ride to and from, plus a bunch of other west coast events extend inland a bit to the Bonneville Salt Flats and a few other dry lakebed events. Hope this helps some. |

What happened to me?? I hung around the dealership watching people stuffing brats in their mouths (ick...dudes with big sausages in their mouths...not my scene) and watching dudes dyno drag race until boredom got the best of me. I did take a demo ride on an Ss and Dave's 12R...that was fun. Got a good laugh when the dude with the 249hp Gixxer said he could beat anyone though Deal's Gap because he'd "been there 12 times". LOL!!! Rookie! I remember my old college mantra, "If you don't get it before midnight, go to bed". Helped me graduate and still got to do my share of partying. There was drinking and womanizing to be done, and standing in a parking lot where the only women were with significant others and sober didn't seem like a target rich environment. We had to go act like out of towners. It was a full day at the track on Saturday, so we figured we'd need the rest. In bed at 1:15am and up with a hangover at 7am. |

Grimace, I'm glad you kept it mellow on Friday, I think another shot would have made for an interesting morning! I'm not as young as I used to be, ya know. As for the four duce, that's 107mm if you must use that confusing metric system! We had the biggest guns in the division (waaaaaaaay back when I was in). As a side note, some of our tubes were made in 1952..... Just goes to show you that when you find something that works, you stick with it! How old is the 30-06? RIGHT! Any whooo; Next year will definitely be different, hey, didn't you mention something about WT101? Didn't see any of that either... The Country Inn was a nice place. Not only will we need more chairs, we'll have to move them into the parking lot so the other guests don't cry! I don't think I ever saw Hargis...you would think that someone as freakishly tall as him would stand out. Perhaps, when he saw the dyno run of your ORANGE Uly he was embarrassed, can't blame him really... btw, what is a 6 foot German speaking Asian doing in Minnesota? PS: Class C extinguishers are for electrical fires, unless you are trying to cool down the beer!(check out the "Myth Busters" episode on the Discovery Channel about this very topic, salt water works better) Tim |

I was standing right by the dyno when they wheeled it up and it pulled a big 72hp. Makes you wonder how much nitrous they were feeding the bikes in the exhaust shootout when the stock bike was putting out power in the 90's. Couldn't have been the dyno...a stock 636 Ninja with a slip-on pulled 128hp (and a big 52lb/ft of torque. LOL!). |

You must not be as freakish as I was lead to believe...... I did ask the wife a couple of times while at Daves, "When do we start drinking?" I saw that 636 but didn't hear the numbers. Good thing it's light weight |

snub13, thats 6'1, not 6', the wild turkey was happening, but it was spaced out over the evening. one can handle only so much goodness in one evening. its funny how you mention that you arent as young as you used to be, id reckon, my body was older than anyone on the porch friday night. was the clown car meltdown not an electrical fire? chad, some of us north of the mason dixon line arent so homophobic and can enjoy a good brat or 8. target rich environment???? arent you married with a new young one?...not that theres anything wrong with that. i just figured that the man, the myth, the legend, would be drinking wiht the mere mortals at least once over the weekend. ill tell ya what, next year spidey will put on a wig, makeup and a skirt if you really need to talk to an ugly woman. chris dude, freakish is anyone who can lay a knee down while driving in a straight line. |

Grimace; "was the clown car meltdown not an electrical fire?" If by this you are referring to the dynamic (flaming) duo on the side-hack...That fire may have been started by an electrical malfunction but once the body work / fuel / oil started going, anything that was electronic was melted. Result (by the time anyone with any type of extinguisher got there) = Class A (rubber, plastic, etc.), Class B (fuel, oil) and possibly Class D (depending on the presence of any flammable metals) Chad to reinforce Grimace's point of non-homophob-isity, I had several brats (Mmmm, good!)and hung out with Grimace and Spidy! How more inclusive can a guy get?

i dunno snub, i was venting the previous nights brats at that time, so i wasnt outside during the clown show and i arrived after the fun was all over, so i really dont know what it looked like. chadhargis, if youre into the beltline bush/puffy swimsuit look of the 70's, i reckon we might have to find some of wisconsins finest corn fed livestock for you to peruse next year. i cant vouch for their vaccinations, but they are in abundance up in that region and most weigh in at 250lbs and over, its all you can eat wisco style. im thinking the lack of pink hats next year might calm some of the homophobia down and the ambiguously gay due will make a triumphant return. oh yeah, stop knocking the 72rwhp and 62ft/lbs of torque. if i get the mods i want, i might be able to get the front wheel off the ground. this is a sad statement about my life, or maybe that it was a good time, but im already looking forward to seeing you thugs next year. btw snub, did the flintlock you carried while on the four deuce team weigh a lot? chris |

Oh, ya they weighed about as much as those corn fed Wisco heffers... When I first got in we were just changing over from the match locks and blunderbuss' (just try to keep those fuses lit when it's rain-snowing in Graffenwhore) Next year I'll show you how to light your stogies by rubbing sticks together! |
