I went past one of those mobile police radar things this morning. I clocked the car in front of me at 43, but only showed me at 12. I find that odd because they usually pick me up on my bicycle pretty accurately. Anyone had a run in with a radar gun yet? I'm wondering if we've got some kind of stealth bike here... |

Yea.....71 in a 55. Adios $126.......Sorry, I have an S. I would think my signature would be less than a Uly but he didn't have any problem with me. Maybe I DO need a Uly!?!? (Message edited by odie on October 27, 2005) |

The tube frame models all have an excellent radar reflector on the front of the bike: the headlight reflector. |

Brother... I would love one but I have a WideGlide I'm being told must go soon so yet another horse in the stable wouldn't go over very well. Someday maybe..... |

Nearly all motorcycles have excellent radar reflectors on them; riders. Dmcutter, The radar's display might have burned out or just momentarily lost some of the elements that make up the 4 in 42. |

I can personally attest to the fact the Uly is by no means a stealth machine. I was cited this past Saturday morning on a small state highway in Oklahoma, the radar gun and the speedo were right on. Wish I had mounted that Valentine One on the Uly now. Needless to say, that is my next project. |

While not speeding, I did have my first run in with the law on the Uly yesterday-playing cut and thrust in traffic, the car in the left lane I darted in front of was an unmarked cop car. Ooops. Lights and sirens, how embarrassing. Turned out to be a motorcycle cop who's bike was in the shop...he gave me a stern talking too and let me go with a warning. It's ironic that I am much more hooligan on the Uly than on my ZX-likely because I can actually see in traffic on this one. |

The black ones do not show up very well on the police radars, but the orange ones do! If you tend to be a bit throttle happy opt for the black one! |

The only thing that helps with radar "deflection" is the size of the object being detected. A car is much easier to pick up in a crowd vs. a motorcycle. If you were close enough to the car all it was picking up was the car and the low reading could have been something way behind you. As for the head light being a reflector, a large surface on the front of a vehicle like that will make it that much easier to pick up especially with a laser. |

I have learned that Barricade Orange is the fastest color. |

Urban Legend. I just got nailed on the interstate by radar on my Black Uly, but perhaps they forgot to install the countermeasures module on my bike at the dealership.

I saw an interesting article in some extreme sports bike several months back about radar detectors and jammers and such-for about $600-$700 you can almost make yourself invisible or at least defeat most of what's out there...but I'm sure the people who ride Ulys are good law abiding citizens and are about adventure, not speeding, right? |

Hey guys, the only time that black is faster than orange is when we are talking about the famous BLACK HOLE whom whirling vortex sucks all manners of bikes deep into it's bowels! |
