This is a request, of lucky owners of the XB12X's around the country, to post some pictures and/or stories that show the new Buell demonstrating what sets it apart from the street Buells. I have seen some cool pictures of Ferris Bueller riding on some sand dunes that I found outstanding, but left me wanting more. Sooner or later someone will fit knobbies to this bike-haha. I have not purchased a Ulysses yet, but did a short test ride, and have studied every word printed about it for the last couple of months. I am definitely sold on them, and am working out my budget to buy one as I type. - |

Chad, I was thinking the same thing. We need a thread called "Uly Country" that has pics of Ulys either in action or in less than sportbike terrain. In my neck o' the woods we have many pothole strewn roads that a Uly will handle with ease. A true sportbike would be in for a jarring day on those. The scenery is awesome and I will be taking some of those rides on my Uly soon. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Jim sb, Uly country would have been a better thread name. Here is a picture of an early HD powered motorcyclist. He would have been on a Ulysses if he could have. I can't wait to see your pics! -Chadley |

OK In my defense it was a heck of a water hazard and I did go first. Here is the BMW GS going thru. Man he is a good rider.

After that we turned around and came back out. I did fine going back out. But even these guys had to show respect for this little crossing.

Jan 04 on an XB12S, a dirt road that got worse and worse, or was it better and better? I discovered Buells handle on dirt. Now I have a Uly I won't be doing this so much... That was an extreme one-off thing on a 12S, the pipe should have got ripped off the bike, except it is Buell quality. Now I'm really looking forward to doing that same road again many times, it was a "once only" on the XB12S. (the muffler damage was done on a different road - don't want to do that one again unless on a trials bike) |

Brad1445, Awesome video, I hope you will post more in time. That was a cool "Ulysses" version of a burnout, but next time, try charging that mud with a little momentum and stay on the throttle.-haha Csg_inc, How did your Uly stack up with the KTM and the GS's? I guess there might be differences in the skill levels of the riders, but what was your gut feeling? Did you feel that if your riding was way above average that you might be able to hang with the KTM? - I am sure the Ulysses if far more capable on the street than those bikes, right?

Hi Brad, What made the creek crossing so gnarly? Just curious, but it looks like stuff I do on my DRZ all the time. Of course it could be pure mud or large rocks under the water, I don't know. It looks like a great Uly road! Beautiful scenery. Regards, Jim in Santa Barbara |

Your be glad to hear the only thing that stopped the Uly from going was my hand on the brake. I wanted to see how tall a rooster tail I could make, I guess somewhere around 15-18 feet. It was kinda dark so I will have to repeat in the light, heh heh heh. I do not ever want to grow up! Thanks Buell! |

Rhinowerx, Oh YES! Can you say "Set as Background?" You have an artistic eye. That is one of the prettiest Uly photos I have seen yet. Is there any way I could get a fullsize version of that photo for my archives? -Chadley |
