With all that room for a passenger, I was wondering what the handling impact was. I know that Ferris and Blackmojo put in some serious two-up miles on the Ulysses. Anyone care to comment? (Message edited by brotherbuell on September 22, 2005) |

i'm hacking away at the FBRAT recap as best i can considering 14-hour work days since i got back, but it'll be a bit yet before i get to the "evaluation" part of the report. that said, in my opinion: with passenger on board and stuff in all three hard bags, the Uly could use a more substantial rear spring. FB, Could you please expand on your reasoning behind that observation? |

Well I can weigh in here. I have a new Uly and I weigh about 220lbs and my Girlfriend weighs about 150lbs. The suspension for us 2 both on was way more than adequate. I don't even have the preload half way on and it is very good. Better handling with 2 up on this bike than with 1 up on my old M2. But every person in the world will not be happy with the setup Buell has come up with. I would be interested to know how much weight they had on the bike if they wanted a more substantial rear spring. |
