I'm not sure this has been covered here before but I did'nt find anything using the search so I'll explain what the problem was that has been keeping me from riding my uly for the last year and a half.

In the main wiring harness on the left side of the frame where it passes under a small plastic bracket and up toward the dash there are two places where a single wire splits and becomes multiple wires. I believe one of these goes to the ignition and the other I'm not sure of yet. From the factory this junction is not in a good place because that area sees a lot of flex and even more on my bike because I do ride on a lot of dirt roads and trails.

The junctions area some sort of a pressure crimp with no solder or mechanical connector, all that was used is glue lined heat shrink.

The symptoms were intermittent
no lights or motor everything would either sputter or go dead completely especially in right hand turns. But also no blown fuses or check engine light.

So if you guys ever have this sort of problem it might be a good place to check.

Ill add some pictures later when I get home so it will make more sense.

Yes, those splices have broken for a lot of people, myself included. Even the unspliced wires are vulnerable to breaking in that area. Should be a first stop for any Uly owner with electrical problems.

I moved both splices behind the flyscreen so that they wouldn't be subject to getting crushed by the forks.
