I thinking about getting a gel seat insert installed, does anyone have one on their bike, and what do you think?

I used a gel seat on my V-Strom when touring. I recall it being more comfortable.

That said, it could get pretty hot after parked in the sun. Sort of like sitting on a hot water bottle.

I would, if you can find one, get the Buell N0025.2AKYW seat. This is the later low version in black. It is not gel, like the early low seat, but very comfy but takes a few miles to break in.

Gel gets hot in the sun and then you feel like your butt is on fire.

I got a cheap-o gel pad for an ATV at WallyWorld. Long trips (like, from Maryland, all the way around Lake Michigan and back)...I put it on the seat for a tank, take it off for a tank. Variety for the cheeks, keeps the blood flowing and the muscles happy. And it was like $25.

I have an air hawk that I put on for long hauls and it is awesome. Expensive to be sure but very comfortable and it doesn't get too hot

I've bought from Lance before. Call St. Paul Harley Davidson and ask for him - he may make you a better deal than what he has listed. He always did for me. He also rides an 1125R.

I think my standard 2006 seat is the most comfortable I've ever been on long-distance.

My $10 option was to get one of those wooden bead seatcovers from walmart.
Looks absolutely idiotic but works mint when it's hot.

When I get to where people would recognize me, I take it off and jam it in a bag : )
