I have the opportunity to pickup a pair of used touratech footpegs. Im also looking at the precision engineering footpegs with the 2" inch drop. Im 6'3 and would prefer footpegs lower than stock. Has anyone seen both of these in person and can compare the two? Are the touratech footpegs good quality? |

I suggest adding a 2006 seat first. I'm a 6'3" freak too and my 2006 seat scored from a fellow badwebber really made the bike perfect for me. |

I have a stock 2006 seat and a "low" seat on my box stock '06 Uly, both acquired when I purchased it in August 2013. Currently have the stock seat on the bike with stock 1" drop OEM pegs. Not having any issues with the bike feeling too cramped with the stock seat on it. I plan on fully trying out both seats when the weather breaks. Who knows? I may end up liking the low seat. I'm 6'6" tall. Stock 2006 seats are easy to come by. Most people want the "low" seats. Post in the "parts wanted" classified section that you want one. Someone will surely have one that they don't want. May be able to pick one up cheap on eBay too. |

I have no experience with the Touratech pegs, but can tell you that the PE parts are an excellent fit for my '08 with the standard '08 seat. (36" inseam) |

I had Touratechs for a few months, but then switched to the Precision Engineering regular pegs (no extra drop). I really liked the roundedness of the the Touratechs, and how well they tucked in once I notched them: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/704819.html?135983 Ergonomically, the Touratech pegs sit a little more forward than the stock pegs and the PEs. I liked that, however: Being closer to the brake and shift levers than stock, made it necessary to shorten the shift lever a bit. The shortened lever made finding neutral a bit difficult when the engine was not running, and nearly impossible when the engine was running. Clutch and Primary were adjusted within specs. This is a 2008 Uly. Finding neutral might have been easier if I had shortened the the shift lever a little less, or had an adjustable shift lever. Who knows? Rather than experiment more, I decided to spend that money on the PE pegs. (Message edited by dtaylor on January 04, 2014) |

Another vote for the 2006 seat. I bought an accessory high seat (a 2006 seat without the seams) for my 2009 Uly. It is the most comfortable seat I've ever had on a bike. I'm 6ft and can't get my feet flat on the ground with the high seat fitted. |

I have the 2010 tall seat. My research shows me the touratech pegs actually raise the pegs 1/4 - 1/2 an inch. They also move you feet forward which I do not mind. The problem is that if you adjust the gear and brake lever maxed out all the way up they will not be high enough and will be too close to the foot. You would need adjustable levers which touratech also dont make any more. pre eng footpegs seem a better peg and more compatible with stock levers. |
