Finally had a weekend day with no rain or snow so I could ride my bike to the shop and put my new cables and hand grip on. Everything went pretty well until it was time to adjust the cables. No matter what I did it seems like the cables were binding and the throttle would not return, also WOT was hard to set. Finally backed off the adjusters and put plenty of slack in the cables. That's when I found that it wasn't the cables at all, the throttle itself was sticking when you got close to WOT. Sprayed it with solvent and got it working pretty well but not perfect, at least most of it's range is smooth now. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do?

Throttle shaft in the midst of failure?
They do that you know...

If it's broken; try contacting Tootal on this forum.
He's might have a solution.

Boy I hope not. I thought the shaft issue was only with 06-07, or is it just that they changed other parts of the design? Guess I'll have to keep an eye on it. Thanks.

Yep, 06/07 had the shaft issue, yours should be ok.

Take a good look at the coil wiring leads and the slotted ferrules on the mounting plate.
I had a ferrule which wasn't firmly seated and the wiring was fouling the cables when the airbox plate was screwed down. It drove me crazy trying to figure that one out.
