No details on the belt, but someone may be able to track it down. A guy in the UK on ADVrider says he's been running one hard for 1500 (miles? kilometers?) and has some extras he will sell for $104/each shipped to USA. Post: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1996 8879&postcount=605 |

With my recent luck with belts, could be worth thinking about. |

Wow. What are the chances that they just happen to have a belt that fits the Uly? Unless Buell / Goodyear chose pitches and and sizes that corresponded with specs common to other industries for production efficiencies. |

A few years ago, during the great belt famine, I did some searching for an alternative, just in case. Here is the size requirements for a ULY: Width: 1 1/8" Pitch: 14 MM Tooth Count 135T |

This is all great information. One of my biggest fears is having to scrap my beloved Uly just because I cannot buy a belt from H-D in the future. Also, that belt is only a little more than half the price of a belt from H-D. Good work guys! Thanks. |

One of my biggest fears is having to scrap my beloved Uly just because I cannot buy a belt from H-D in the future. Don't let that worry you. Even if belts were to become unavailable (which it looks like they won't), people have converted XB's to chain drive without much difficulty or expense. I'd rather have the belt, but if I had to convert to chain to keep riding it I'd do it. |

Options are good, but i'll let somebody else experiment. Knock on wood, but in 70k+ miles of Buell riding I have never lost a belt. Wish I could say the same about the chains and sprockets on all my other bikes. $160 for a proven solution feels cheaper to me then a $100 roll of the dice. But I'm happy to watch other people bet. |

According to Teeps info it looks like the Uly belts p/n would be: 14MXP-1890-28.5 1890/14 = 135 teeth and 28.5mm = approx 1-1/8" This I think would be a special order belt, I don't see that p/n in their catalog. I am asking the US distributor for a quote on various quantities. |

Isn't that belt installed backward? I thought the writing should be read as you are looking at the belt. The belt in the picture the writing is upside down. Something I remember from H-D/Buell school. Buell logo facing out on a factory belt. Or maybe it does not matter? |

As far as i know the Good year belt can be bought for under 150$ the SoloBuell one is 160€+ 21% tax + shipping so we are talking to over 250$ or close to. The first belt posted on this link i have no info. |

I am sure he is using the 30mm belt. I don't see how the extra 1.5mm could pose any issues. 30mm isn't a stock width for the 14 pitch belts on their catalog. 1.5mm is about 1/16". I think the front sprocket has two lips, so I rounded 1-1/8" down to the nearest 1/2mm to be safe (going over on size wouldn't be good). Now you have me wondering ... I need to take a calipers to the stock belt to get an exact width. Rounding up to 30mm sounds like a good idea if it's mechanically possible. |

buy this one and slice it into three belts and you get them for about $30 each. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GOODYEAR-1890-14M-85-BELT- HI-PERFORMANCE-POSITIVE-DRIVE-NEW-/170931877656?pt =LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27cc557718 |

Just an update on this FENNER belt guys. I ordered 2 for other people here in New Zealand, and they are working fine, HOWEVER the guy in the UK has destroyed his belt after only 5000kms i think. He isn't going to use it again, and for the small bit extra, I would go with Goodyear belt in the states. For us in NZ, its $330NZD for a belt so worth it for some to have this as a spare only. |
