The past week I've been looking for a battery replacement for my 2007 Uly. I used search functions, studied all available info toward getting a battery that is as good as the Harley item supplied with the bike- one of the best I've used in any bike but without paying the high dealer prices being asked.

Yesterday I called regional East Penn distributor and got some useful info per the following-

1. The ETX14 battery is the recommended replacement for the Buell Ulys.

2. It's manufactured by East Penn Battery Manufacturing and other than case color is the same as the oem supplied item. This, per the Carrolton Tx East Penn distributor.

Should be useful info for anyone looking for a battery.

My son and I both use Shorai lithium batteries in our ULYs. http://www.shoraipower.com/s-426748-1200-XB12-all. aspx
We got them discounted to $199 + tax from Omaha Ducati. They hold a higher voltage. Just checked my 06' moments ago and the battery was a 13.33 volts. My son's hasn't been ridden in about 2 weeks and his checked out a 13.31 volts. I'll have to take his out for a spin today, he's off at college.

So what's the price on the East Penn battery?

The Harley batteries have always served me well, and while they ain't cheap, they are reasonable.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think East Penn makes the OEM H-D batteries.

Just bought one for my 2007 too. I figured it was about time to replace the marginal. Its on a Battery Tender just about whenever I'm not riding. Price went up to $72.95 though.
