My EBR 6mm rotor started pulsing after a few thousand, mostly freeway, miles. It seems to have a thin spot about the distance of one mounting bolt to the next that is .003" thinner then the rest of the rotor. (or maybe the rest has .003" of build up?). In either case it's pulsing like mad.

Are u using OEM pads.

Did you install the EBR mounting kit? Some theorize that makes all the difference.

Yes, when I installed the new rotor. The amount off runout is negligible but when I mic the rotor thickness I see up to .003" difference in this one long spot. If I squeeze and release the lever to seat the pads then spin the wheel I can actually hear where the pads stop contacting the rotor.

I have used the lydell gold with no noticeable issues yet. Outside of that they are dusty.

I have a 6mm rotor, mounting kit and EBC pads waiting for a new front tire. After reading all the posts about why the fronts pulsate I have made it a practice to wash the rotor and pads when cleaning the bike, I lightly lubed the mounts with Inox and stopped holding the front brake tightly at stops.

After all this I have eliminated my pulsing on my stock rotor and pads for the last 5000 miles.

Will I still install the 6mm rotor, mounts and EBC's....yes.

But for now the pulsing is gone.

From my experience on 2 buells EBR mounting kit is the answer.

The disc may be out of spec as could the mounts but it could also be that one of the caliper pistons has a bad/sticking seal. Check that all retract to the same position. I had one stick and it fu+ked my disc on another bike.

Nothing wrong with ECB pads and I have hand no problems with front pulsing.

Still haven't had a chance to check the caliper but here is EBR's response to 6mm rotor thickness spec...
"It's not the rotor. They are ground within tenths of a thousandth for flatness." They then asked what kind of pads I'm running. I would tend to believe this is an uneven buildup at this point. Next time I change my front tire I'll service the rotor somehow.

Cool. It's good to read EBR's response, Brakes2late. Thanks. I went with the EBR hardware, as well, and so far so good. I call it the '2011' part of my bike since I believe Buell planned to install it on all 2011's. : )
