I had a close one with selling my Ulysses and picking up a new Honda VFR1200F. I have decided that I want something a bit smoother and a little sportier. I love Buell's. My current '06 Ulysses I purchased new in '06. I love the bike but I've been looking around quite a bit lately. Nothing has really caught my eye other than the VFR and that was honestly a lot of bike (holy 170 hp batman). I'm sure I could handle it but needing it is another question. Finally farting around through a moto-sport magazine I see this thing called a Motus MST. It looks intriguing. It's a sport tourer which is what I was looking for... but the biggest difference between that and say the VFR and one of the things that is one of the larger resemblances to the Buell is it has SOUL! It looks awesomely unique with the way the engine is mounted. It sounds absolutely unique with it being a pushrod V-4. The VFR has the dwindling soul of the original Interceptor but it has been far removed from there. I think this Motus is like an Interceptor or a V-Max or Buell was when it was first released. Anyone else run into this or consider it? http://motusmotorcycles.com/index.html (Message edited by terrible1one3 on February 28, 2012) |

the motus is a beautiful bike but I've found myself tempted by the fact that two dealers near me have vfr's marked down to the sub- $10,000 range. I want to wait for the motus but I may find the vfr too interesting to pass up, especially if the lion's share of depreciation has been slashed out of it before I take delivery. then again, the triumph dealer also has Sprints on sale for around $9000, side cases and all. maybe I'll keep the paid off van and buy two new bikes... |

The VFR is a really great looking bike, especially in red. And the ones with luggage and taller bars really call to me. I have to say, when I sat on one at the bike show, I freaked out when I reached for the clutch lever and there wasn't one there! I don't know if I can get around that. The Motus is definitely on my long-term list, for many of the same reasons you mention...the same reasons I bought the Buell. My only nit is that the engine looks a bit "car-like" in there. |

The Motus is a very nice bike. Got to sit on the two prototypes at a demo in Birmingham. |

Hooper. You can get a standard 6-speed transmission with a clutch so don't know why that would deter you. The VFR is extremely cheap right now... It is very tempting but I want something weird and different (Buell... MOTUS!). Buell AX is never coming out. I called EBR when I was about to pull the trigger on the VFR and asked if I should wait for the AX or pull the trigger now. They said no way in the next year will it be available to consumers so I'm guessing it's still 1-3 years out... and who knows if it is what anyone will want. |

No I do not, I only know a few dealers, and they are all in the north. I'm sure there will be some near you soon if you there isn't any already. EBR hasn't released a list or anything, so I only know what people have reported first hand. |
