I'd usually apologize for a hi-jack like this, but this thread is so far off topic already. . .
Naw, makes me feel more at home. No one at my house pays attention to me either! Thanks all... Some preliminary contact on what appears to be a clean 08X with bags so I'll keep you posted.
Mr Saxman, while I did exaggerate the XB pose for the humorous value, the first two pics are how I spend 90% of the time on my R. It is very comfortable, I feel one with the machine, and I can go well beyond the 200-250 mile highway cruising range per fillup. It actually is quite annoying being the groove for a few hours then all the sudden the damn yellow light comes on. I love hoping on the thing and soaking up miles, the bike is smooth as butter and quiet as a butterfly at 70mph. After 50k miles on the XB, 17k on my Uly, 20k on my 1125R and 18k on my 1125CR, I've done enough seat time to know the XB ain't for me anymore.
Yet, I'm tempted to do a fly and ride to pick up a nice XB12STT just to add to the collection....
Oh yea, I do keep my hooliganism to a minimum, but I do have a little fun on occasion during my commutes at the parts where there is no traffic and intersections. She will lift the front off the ground without effort at 80!
Here is the crappy video from that frame with the cop (you can see the bars shake a bit as the front end comes a hair off the ground)
On a sidenote, the gopro is great, I have it to gather evidence (good or bad) in the event I have another event with a cager, so it would be something other than my word vs theirs.
Pnw_uly - Yep full ZTL2, another must have feature of the 1125.
Froggy, you should have made a U-turn at the light so you could get a second shot of that cop going the other way. On a side note about the ergos, for some of us of the older persuasion, the few extra degrees of knee flex on the sportier bikes can be intolerable. But then again, if it wasn't for individual differences everyone would be riding the same bike. How boring would that be?
That's one of the best audio tracks I've ever heard from the many videos I've seen about riding. That thing just sounds awesome. The box-o-rocks in my Uly wishes it could sound that good! Thanks, Froggy.
