I have found several replacement batterys Updated information: Base Model Yausa Lead Acid YTX14-BS 200CCA 6.5 lbs $ 55.00 YTX14H-BS 240CCA 8.6 lbs $ 97.19 High perf. version of the 14BS YTX14H-BS 260CCA 11.9 lbs $ 83.00 Scorpion Replacement YTX14 LI 270CCA 2.1 lbs $ 180.00 Lithium Ion 2yr warranty Some LI Batterys were close to $300.00 I thought this would make a nice comparison. I'm considering the LI considering the better spec. vs cost. I have heard that if a LI discharges completely it cannot be recharged. Any input, pro/cons opinions? The standard Yuasa is the one you want if you are going with them. The one with the higher CCA is not a direct fit. |

Wow those are only 200 CCA? You can easily get 500 CCA with Lithium batteries. |

I used an AGM extreme battery listed at 200 cca, and was never happy with it. Always hesitated starting. Now I have a CarQuest 210 cca battery that I really like. Spins the motor up quickly and effortlessly. That being said, if my battery didn't die while touring, I would have done much more research, and bought a new lightweight one. |

YTX 14 H-BS (200cca) scorpion makes a 260 CCA that is the highest I have found and they say a replacement for the YTX 14H Most of the others are V-Rod batterys 200 CCA that seemed low to me too. The Lithium batterys cost more than the bike is worth |

Svh Posted on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 The standard Yuasa is the one you want if you are going with them. The one with the higher CCA is not a direct fit. I can confirm the positive terminal on the H-BS battery is not in the correct position. However if you don't mind bending the termination 90degs on the bike's positive cable; that battery works great. I've had one in my '06 Uly since summer of '06; still working today... |

Deka/East Penn ETX-14: 220 CCA, made in USA, available in auto parts stores, around $80. The picture is of my first one 3 1/2 years ago which I abused with local short rides/multiple starts, infrequent trickle charges, and leaving my lights on which finally killed it. It was rated 200 CCA. The new one is 220 and stills spins the engine fine down to 35 degrees here occasionally in the morning. The dual-tapped posts are a plus. http://www.dekabatteries.com/default.aspx?pageid=10 (Message edited by xbimmer on January 19, 2012) |

Djohnk Gonna try your recommendation. My stock battery is 8 (!) years old, and getting a little slow on the roll, if you know what I mean.
