What's the word on zeroing the TPS with ECMSpy and having the EBR ECM? Will it really mess up the MAPs? |

Just repeating what I've heard. eBr ecm don't get along with the spy. Check with eBr prior to doing it. |

I did a TPS and AFV reset on my '06, and it worked fine. YMMV, and those two things are ALL I've done with it. Definitely check with EBR. I did. |

Thanks. I have an 06 also. Can't wait to get rid of that 3k stumble. |

You need to do a TPS reset anytime you change the ECM so that it knows where "0" is for the throttle operation. A note, if you have many miles on the bike it can be a good idea to check closely the edges of your throttle plate. Look for black carbon build up. The plate edge will feel gritty if it is there. It can stop the plate from closing to "0" and throw off a TPS reset. Also make sure it is fully warmed up before doing the TPS setting. |

+1 on warming it up. If you're changing the ECM, warm it up first then do proper TPS reset after. No problems with ECMSpy and EBR ECM on my 2006, but all I use it for it the TPS reset. I think the map tuning is where you might have problems. |

Well, I did the reset with EcmSpy...seems to have messed up the ECM. I saw no change from the old one. In fact, it doesn't like to idle now. (Message edited by andrejs2112 on May 29, 2012) |

I have a 2004 xb12s k&n, air box delete plexiglass cover, breather reroute, Jardine and just received my preprogrammed EBR ECM. I tried the ecm spy and it locked out at 9.8% throttle postion so figuring that's the new zero I did the two extra turns that Dave does in his tps reset video "thx dave" pressed tps reset and it went back to 0 on the screen, adjusted for idle and warmup and adjusted the idle to 5.9% for 1050-1150rpm at 140°C and it idled perfectly. I road 20 miles and a/f went up to 105% over the stock ecm calibrated itself up to 120% with was far too lean. My back fire is gone entirely. |
