This has been discussed before however this question is specific to the 2009 or newer uly Is there anyone with a 2009 or newer xb12x that has had qualifying hassle free warranty repairs that have exceeded the cost of the extended warranty. I recently attempted a claim on my extended warranty and was denied reference the extended warranty. When I purchased the ew I specifically asked if I was covered immediately. The rep said yes I was covered that day. When I made the claim the fine print was explained to me that you are covered immediately however you have to wait 30 days to make a claim. I was also told by the service adviser that my warranty claim was subject to an adjuster coming in and evaluating my bike for any aftermarket mods before it would be considered. I have six days to cancel my ew without penalty, (same 30 day period now used to my advantage.) The dealer however did cover the repairs, I guess because my regular warranty was in effect when the bike came in and had the problems after being worked on at the dealer. I did not pick it up until after the original warranty had expired. |

If you're talking about your XP....the loophole may be the Police kit itself. I *believe*...the emergency kit may not be a covered item since a) it's an accessory and b) it's "not designed for street use". It all depends how the dealership words the claim. |

Thanks again Ratbuell: you were right reference the cop kit not coming under warranty and also raising questions of overall warranty. Warranty cancelled. Its running perfectly and hope to keep it that way by not taking it to the hospital. |

I'm keeping mine! It just kicked in for a 5 year period and the dealer gave me a good deal on it. The extended warranty on my Electra Glide paid for itself big time and I have friends who had the same experience. I'm not an extended warranty guy but on bikes, particularly if you plan to put miles on, I am. Hope I never use it but glad to have it. ZZZZZZZZZZ's!!! |

Just my "2 cents worth" (we Brits call it "2 bobs worth") on the EW thing. Here in the UK if you buy a used car or bike the dealer must supply a limited warranty by law and is part of the deal price. Apart from that they are, for me, an insurance company gold mine. Hear is the story? Once upon a time in a far, far away Galaxy someone thought up the idea putting money into a pot that if needed would help those who added to it. This worked well for many years until Banks got there hands on it and as with many other things we are now screwed. Your better off spending the money in Las Vegas. At least the weather is warm and the girls are sexy. |

Like I said if it is a good deal why not. I bet dealers loved the two year one with Buells. HD did the belt and rear bearings on my first Uly, the front bearings and 03/ECM faults of my 2010 Uly. Both dealers did 140 round mile trips to collect them for free as well. I know others have had problems but I can not fault the service I have had. |
