Hello, Let me explain i have a 2006 Uly with open air box,K&N air filter, catch can and a D&D exhaust with a Race Eprom with maps adjusted for this configuration, a friend has same except his exhaust is an HP. his bike has the problem at 3 K revs, but with my eprom that problem disappears, and the bike runs even faster. Do you think my configuration of Eprom would kill his bike in a short period of time / Miles? |

What is HP exhaust? Whether it's straight through like D&D or not, your Eprom should not cause any problem. With regard to the Eprom and ECM: A Buell Race ECM Eprom will not work in a stock Ulysses ECM. Data is handled differently between the two ECMs. You can use the fuel and ignition maps. But I've found no particular joy in doing so. Your buddy's best bet is to drop the $250 for an Erik Buell Racing race ECM and call it good. |

the hp is similar to a drummer shape:and is straight trough like a D&D and can be repacked like a jardine or drummer. this is the closet i found to that exhaust:

Is this what you did and is it not worth it, or the same as what you'd get in an Erik Buell Racing ecm? I was all stoked to learn how to use my computer... well I guess I can just do the tps anyway! |

We were using a race ecm just a friend touched up the maps, to adjust them better to this exhaust, we made some recording with the palm and sent it to him and with megalog view he looked at the data and adjusted the fuel maps. |

Yes, really. Adobe Flash hates me today, so I can't see what they did or didn't do in the video, but if you flash an EEPROM from a different type of ECM, you will cause major running issues. There is around a dozen variants of the ECM that have been released over the years, and the only way you can flash a stock EEPROM to a race EEPROM is if they both have the same hardware inside the ECM. If you have a different ECM version, the way the data is arranged on the ECM is different, and when you flash it, everything will be in the wrong spot. It is similar to getting Mapquest directions to China, and having all the different steps in the wrong order. What you can do is import the fuel and ignition maps and burn only that to the stock ECM, then you won't have to worry about totally hosing your system. |
