Here are a few pics of my ECM relocation. I was out of ideas to keep the seat from rubbing on the gray connector so I gave in and moved it. I did not want the ECM to be damaged by vibration (our bikes do vibrate, don't they?) so I fabricated a simple little bracket that mounts to the Torx screw that retains the top of the shock reservoir. I placed a piece of self-adhesive felt on the rear of the ECM and tucked it down in front of the battery box. The front ECM screw mounts to the bracket. The best part of this mod is the fact that I will never have to deal with that captive nut for the front ECM mounting screw ever again!

I checked the clearance between the seat and ECM after I did this and there is about 3/8" at the highest point on the ECM.

Rub marks on connector and spacer block:

Rub marks on seat bottom:

SS bracket:

Final product, very solid:

I would cut off the abandoned, B.A.S. bracket, or install some split wire loom tubing to cover the harnesses. Looks like the harness on the right is or will touch that bracket.

Motorbike,
Nicely done. Using your noggin.

Also, the photo of the hole showing foam. That might be a good place to shove a baggy with a 20 dollar bill for emergency situations.
