When i had the comfort kit installed, the guy at the dealer said that they have had some issues with the reflash/remap and that since I was about to leave on a long trip they'd rather I do it when i get back, just in case. The problems they said they had was with the engine running a little more rich, but from what i have read here the only thing the remap does is adjust when the fan comes on. Is this correct? |

Rich would be a good thing in general since they come from the factory lean. |

The only difference between the first calibraton for the comfort kit and the one before was just fan operation. If your bike had an even older calibration, there may be other changes including the fuel map. There have been updates since the first CK calibration, but I don't know what they changed. |

If it was making bikes run richer, it would not meet EPA standards and the code revision would never have been approved for public use. |

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll have to take it to have it done then. I installed the under-seat heat shields/blankets over a year ago and that pretty much eliminated the hot seat. Add to that the Uly comfort kit and it's not so bad. Frame still gets pretty warm though. |
