I also just joined the new bike crowd, but I could not afford to keep the Uly and pay for the BMW. I will miss the Uly but I also love my new F800GS. The dealer wanted the Buell with everything stock installed. Guess it's time to have a "Buell yard sale". I think my best option is to put the stuff on ebay. On another subject, I have been on a lot of different web groups in the last many years. By far this group is the most civil of any I have been on. Thanks for sharing the knowledge and making my year of Buell ownership something special. |

What aftermarket goodies do you have? Sometimes eBay is best...sometimes not! Might be worth a shot to at least unload what you can here first... |

I know what it cost new, but not what it's really worth used. That is where ebay works out. And I think I should not even have posted the list here, it belongs in the selling section. yes, the 2006 seat is the tall one. N0025.1AKFYW It's the new version without the seams cutting into your thighs. I bought it Feb 2010 which was around 2K miles ago. |

Hey Towpro, Congrat's on the F type! Was looking at those myself. I hope you will tell us about it. I'm really interested in how it stacks up. Power, off road, etc. Massive bummer it came at the cost of the Uly. Why did you make the switch? Hope you stick around. I've enjoyed reading your post, and looking at the mods you had done. Good luck! |

Towpro, I know the F will work much better on the dirt road scouting and trails your putting together. I'll keep watching on the ADV pages for your PA and NJ trails. |

I decided to post this list over in the for sale section instead of Ebay. Give my BadWeb brothers first shot. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 587141.html?1281795965 as far as the F, it does not have the torque or HP of the Uly but I am OK with that. It's hard to explain, but I like the way the F handles better. Maybe it is because I have always ridden bikes with 21" front wheels? I don't plan on taking the F on anything worse then stone roads. It cost to much to be dirt riding. I still have an XR650L for off road stuff. Why did I sell the Buell? To be honest, I have owned BMWs in the past (I even used to work for them) and decided I wanted to go back. Plus the fact that any broken part could mean 8-10 weeks off the road waiting for back-ordered parts. Don't get me wrong, I loved to ride the Buell. Plus my Daughter starts collage next year, so the bike I own now has to last for at least 5 years. Kind of like "change bikes now, or forever hold my peace". Sure I have payments on the BMW, but I have enough equity in it so if something happened that caused me to need to stop the payments (income loss) I could sell it quick for a payoff. |

The f800 is a nice nimble beast. I didnt find it lacking in power - but @ 160# - even my KLR is OK. If I could only have 1 bike - the smaller GS maybe it. (unless the new Tigers, soon to be unveiled, are up to the hype) Anyway...Congrats! I will keep the Uly until the parts run out - then I'll move on. I want to ride - not be sitting by the window waiting (3 mos!) for the UPS driver to deliver a belt. At 62, unfortunately, these things start to matter. |

I unloaded my "do-all" DR 650 because after Mr. Uly came into my life it just gathered dust. As I yearn for the back roads again I am going thicker tires on my Uly (already XB9)and toying with a light dual sport in addition...Gas Gas 250 would be fun...maybe even a TE 610 Husky. Waiting to find out what happens to my ride life with Mr. Uly in it. Don't know if I am a one bike or two bike guy. |
