I bought one of the Palmer Bracket windshield mounting kits and went to install it this evening. It didn't with any instructions, but I figured it didn't need any.

When I went to install it, however, two questions came up.

First, I am assuming you remove the rubber inserts from the front of the windscreen plate (not sure of actual name). It doesn't look like they are needed for the Palmer brackets, but the only way I can see to get them out is to cut them. I would hate to destroy them and then need them.

Second, the kit came with two small rubber squares with an adhesive back. What are they for?

Thanks for any help. I really wanted to get this put on tonight, but I don't want to mess something up I can't easily fix.

The rubber grommets pull out of the flyscreen. Pinch them, they do come out.

The squares must be new. Vibration dampers for under the flyscreen?

Yes, you have to remove the rubber gromets but don't cut them! go from the back side, grab the grommet with two or three fingers and twist it real hard while pushing it through the hole. The Palmer directions said use soapy water but that makes them harder to grab! I removed all four in about two minutes. The little squares are to stick on the dash where the two upper bolts that you will install on the brackets don't rub the back.

Ok, the grommets are out. I am glad I don't have to do that all day. Thanks for the info guys. Now back to the installation. Instructions would have made me more confident in all this, but I think I can get it done without them.

Alright, she's all back together! I am going for a ride with some buddies Saturday morning. That will give me a chance to try several windshield positions. Hopefully, I'll find wind nirvana.

Hey Neil, I didn't know you were back in town!

We need to get together for a ride soon. I hope all is well. I'll be in touch with you later. Take care.

Mine didn't come with anything. I went to their website, but didn't see the instructions anywhere. I figured they might be on there, but I couldn't find them.

Thanks, I got an email from Ian at Palmer Products saying I should have received a separate email with a link to the instructions. I really don't recall that email, but it is possible I thought it was just a receipt email or something.

Regardless, a really nice product and I hope they help with wind control.
