I recently installed 1125CR mirrors on my Uly. I got a few questions about the install in the thread and via PM, so I thought I would post up some pics and a quick how-to.

It is a VERY simple install, with no modifications needed for the mounting!

The only thing you need to do is swap the bases (left to right) of the mirrors, as they interfere with the hand guards if you do not. This is a bit tricky, as the nut on the bottom has the wires coming out of it, and it is recessed so you can not get a socket or wrench on it!

Here is what I did: using a 15mm wrench on end, I was able to grab 2 sides of the bottom nut. I then used a crescent wrench to give leverage to the 15mm. Hard to paint a word picture of this, so here's a couple of real pictures!

Once removed, simply swap the 2 bases, reassemble (with Loc-Tite!) and you're ready to mount on the bike.

I purchased 2 bolts: M10 x 1.25, 25mm long and 8 washers. 3 washers are required to space the mirrors up just a bit to clear everything. They are not visible once mounted.

The mounting order on my setup: 3 washers, mirror base, 1 washer, bolt.

Then simply lengthen the wires a bit, and plug into the factory plugs. A few bullet connectors would make this simple.

Done!

Nice Job Andy!, Not sure if you had the Aprilia mirrors or if you had the stockers but how is the clarity at speed? Thanks

Looks good. Where did you get them and for how much.

Is that a Falcon in the background?

Also, what bar bag do you have and do you like it?

I had the stockers before. These are better, but not perfect. I think with some bar ends or internal weight they would be good.

the bag is a chase harper bag. It's built well (as opposed to the Buell bag which I have heard of zippers ripping out etc.), and hold a lot. Kind of in the way for fueling if it's fully loaded tho.

that's a 64 Nova : ) it's my dads project- has an LT1 motor and 4L60E trans, full TCI front clip and rear suspension etc. It's almost ready to drive!

I was looking at your photo of the mount and since the mirror is offset from the mounting bolt, it kinda looks like you could replace that bolt with a mount for a gps or radar or something.

I bought it from Dennis Kirk....but I don't see it on their site anymore. I bough about 2 years ago. I don't see a model number on any of the tags either... I'll keep digging!

Thanks for the write up, Andy. I've got some CR mirrors in transit to me at the moment, and this will be a big help in getting them mounted nicely. Cheers!

Anyone wanting to sell or donate the originals mirrors off their Uly I would be interested. Lost one on the throttle side the other week in an accident.

I did the same swap on my '06, without swapping the bases. My bases are at a different angle compared to stock, so the mirror stems don't "pop" into position when you rotate them around to use them...but it's actually nice because side-to-side adjustments are simple when going down the road.

I did space them up, though.

I also added an American Sport Bike flasher relay, because I use homebrew LED rear signals as well. Same deal, though - added about 4" of wire to each lead and plugged in. Just remember - LED's are pole-sensitive. If you plug one in and it doesn't work...swap wires and it should work : )
