Who else besides me still has a perfectly good original issue clutch cable wireform that hasn't broken. Mine has well over 25,000 miles on it. My bike is blessed. (Message edited by electraglider_1997 on May 28, 2010) |

Funny you post this, I am in the middle of adjusting my clutch (can't figure it out, need auto-adjuster or hydraulic conversion), I am at about 41k with the paperclip retainer. |

Maybe the breaks were caused by over-torquing the screw at the factory and ours weren't. |

Keep an eye on it Electroglider - mine was blessed as well but the cable actually sawed through it at about 50,000miles. Have a look at the lower loop and see if the wire isn't worn flat in one place - if so, that will eventually wear right through. The resulting super-sharp end then proceeded to rip into the cable outer - The new one is really industrial strength to look at but expensive for what it is. Mind you, it is much cheaper than a clutch cable. |

68,000 miles on my original, and still looks fine (now I've probably just jinxed it).

are you talking about the clip that holds the clutch cable or the actual cable itself? I had to replace the cable but it still has the same clip holding it. Cable broke close to 29000 miles. |

There is no electronic friction value in ECMspy, so I got to turn some nuts and hope it works the old fashioned way. I think I finally got it this time, I went out for a ride and it didn't slip under hard acceleration but I couldn't get it to wheelie. I love not having to adjust the damn thing on my podded bikes. |

My original '06 paperclip style holder is still as pristine as new. I will be happy to sell it to anyone interested for about $50 plus shipping. It has very low mileage and virtualy no wear. I replaced it with the new one when the new version came out, the paper clip has been stored in a climate controlled garage. |

Pso, as generous as that offer is, I'll try and resist. |

So I looked at my ULY's paper-clip and it has no flat spots. Looks good as new to me. I don't change things that work just fine. BUT, if there is a great demand for 50 dollar wireforms then I'll be all over that. Just send me your check to: Electraglider Madoff Lane Ponzi, NE 66677 |
