Hey All,

Looks like I am gonna get about 2500 from my Pirelli Angle on the rear. The front is wearing like steel but the rear is going going almost gone at 2200 miles. It will make 2500 or a tad more if I keep my wrist in control.

So has anyone used up a Mich PR2 yet? My riding buddy on his SV1000 has 8500 on his and he rides along with us at speed. So I was wondering mileage and handle on a set. Please let me know.

Have about 9,000 miles on a set and still some tread on them. The dual compound seems to work well. Lots of commuting miles and there not squaring off. Only got about 3k on the D616 rear

lots of XB guys run them with good reports. I run the pilot roads (single compund) on my XB9S and my X1 and love them. The PR2s I would imagine would be that much better, I just couldn't justify the price difference.

Nothing better. Money well spent. I got about 5k on the rear. Eery good control and handling. Get hot, there are NO chicken strips. Excellent wet tire. Hayfields and dirt roads are not this tires purpose, but it does OK.

haha DAMHIK! but a great tire otherwise, about 9k on the rear...front is around 11k now (but pretty much toast).

I put 11,500 on my first rear one. The second was looking like it would make it there when at about 9000 a sharp rock kicked up by my front tire took it out.

Handle is better than the D616, and the Sync.

I'm really surprised to hear that you're only going to get 2.5K out of the Angel ST, I have a new set in the garage to put on after I finish of the Strada's and was hoping for better mileage.

Dude, I am a fat bastard and I like to accellerate and brake hard. Mainley the front but I use both brakes. We ride mainly between 80 and 110 when we are out playing. The roads down here just chew up tires for some reason.

I got 1800 on the OEM sync rear before it was down to the wear bars. I rode it a few hundred more easy miles till the Angels came in. One reason I was asking about the PR2's is how durable are they as well as milage. My rear angle has all kinds of puncture damage, not leaking but slits, pokes and cracks from slits all over it after my 1300 miles in Arkansas a few weeks back. ON the ROADS no off roading. The repairs in the roads had some of the sharpest rocks I ever saw on it , granite gravel like sharks teeth. Maybe ANY tire would have been brutilized by it but two of the other bikes, a C14 and an ST, both heavy bikes compared to the Uly had ZERO damage from the same gravel.

Now Etennuly claims a rock took out his rear with tread left. Makes me want my ole stand by V Strom tire, the PirelliScorpon Trail back under me. Thick carcuss. Confused here now??????

If you get decent milage from your other tires you will be fine on the Angel. Its gotten better 1/3 more life so far than my sync. Thats good and it does handle better with the Angels over the Syncs.

Greetings all you misfits - Just finished (got home yesterday) a 12,500 mi 4 corners trip with lots of wandering. PR2's were installed at departure - still got another 2k left in 'em. Lots of high speed riding (80-90mph)& wet crappy roads. Great road trip tire! A more complete ride report later. Learned lots of what NOT to do thru accomplished ignorance & error. Chow' j

I've got about 2300 miles on my oem angels and they look like the have many more miles left in them. I am a heavy guy as well. I must ride like a granny.

I have the PR2s on my BMW RT, they came on the bike stock from the factory. I'm not thrilled with them and want some that are a bit stickier. I had great luck with the Avon Storms a couple of years ago. I've got about a 2000 miles left on the set I have, once they are ready to go, I'm going back to Avon Storms.

Hey Liv2 - Good to be back. After I catch up a bit here, I'll collect whats left of my thoughts, and write it up. Hope you guys are all well and havent broken all your Ulys since I left. Wbrisett - Hmmm - never had storms, so cant compare. But have run Scorpians, Anakee2s, Roadsmarts, Distanzias, Tourances, and others on my bikes (ST-1300,955 Tiger,& Uly)I gotta say the PR2s held the road well - even in copious rain & high speed canyon carving. The RT is a dimensionally much larger machine - so could account for some of the difference. I wanted a tire that could do 12k hwy miles and not have cords showing - these did the trick. Surprised I still have as much tread left as i do. But not a lot of hard acceleration from stop, since mostly long road miles. j

In the case of my PRII getting cut down, I was doing about 60 mph, in a shadow flashing valley when the front tire kicked up a sharp flat rock. It hit hard enough that the rear of the bike kicked about a foot in the air and six inches out to the side. It was flat before it landed.

I then rode about three and a half miles with it flat with no danger of it coming apart or off the rim. It could have probably gone ten miles or so at 30mph flat, without messing up the rim or fender stuff. On a 9000 mile tire, I was pretty impressed with that.

I have Pilot Roads on my Lightning and like them. Some people like to run the Pilot Road 2 on the rear and the softer Pilot Power or Power 2CT on the front, so that both tires wear at about the same rate and can be replaced at the same time. Otherwise, the rear will be worn long before the front.

I have the old Pilot road on mine. the rear has 2400 miles or so and looks to have at least 3000 or so left and thats good for fl. roads. We may have the most flat strait roads anywhere but the asphalt is mixed with crushed sea shells and they eat tires. So I wouldn't call them easy miles but i do like the look and the feel.and I'm a cheap bastard so I like the price too!

Etennuly, those tires were showing some wear. I wonder if they would have ripped like that if they were new or had more rubber on them.

That tire didn't rip, it was a sharp rock that punctured it. The way that thing hit, about the only tire that would not have suffered damage would not fit the Uly, it would have ten plys and be mounted on a truck rim!

More tread would not have mattered(except I would have been pissed if it were newer), it struck the tire off from the main wear area. I was quite impressed that the rim was not dented or bent. I blame this particular cut down flat totally on circumstance.
