I just upgraded to a nice HID low beam. It has exacerbated the shadow effect from the BBQ grill headlamp guard. Who is still running the guard and has it saved anyones headlight yet? I am ready to toss mine in the "spare Buell parts soon to be collector items box". Opinions, thoughts, ideas?

I pulled my grille as soon as I got my Uly home. Makes it easier to clean the muck and bugs off the lights, and they really won't protect the lights from anything smaller than a bird anyway...

If that was what I worried about on my bikes...I'd own a Harley.

Form or function....I choose function : )

Why do you still have the stock fender and hand guards then? : D

I popped mine off too.
Hard to scrape the bugs off with that fence in the way.
I was thinking of installing it on my friend's XB12S when he's not looking : )

I think the grille is the dumbest thing on the bike, the useless beak is next. Grille is in my spare parts bin.

The beak is pretty sad too : (

Ha! Yeah, when it's dark out and I'm riding through rain puddles or such. I can watch as the splash climbs up and out the front of the beak, and the drops shoot up and hang just about eye level before I hit them. Not a problem, sort of amusing to me.

That said, still haven't removed it. One of these days when I get $$ ahead I'll look into the full fender American Sport Bike sells.

Handguards actually *do* something in the cold and the rain....and while I don't necessarily love the beak, I do love the lower rear section of the front fender. The XT fender is a joke, too.

My rule of thumb - if it's something I don't think I need and it pops off quickly (i.e. not too many tools required) - off it goes. If it annoys repeatedly (like the tripletail lock), I find a way to make it go away.

C'mon Froggy...you know you want a beak on your CR : )
