Didn't really take any pix of the actual install process, fairly straightforward, these little puppies bolt straight up with 5/16"'s 1" bolts, some washers and locknuts. I carry inside each of them a 33oz msr fuel bottle full of... fuel which gets me just under a half gallon of spare gas. It's not a ton, but hey, it'll get me another 20-25 miles.

Anyway, here's a few pix of the installed tubes, they are quite secure, waterproof, rattle free and completely out of the way.

Invisible from the front

note: You will need to grind the edges down on four washers for the inside as they will need to fit inside a channel.

Rockets!!!

No, seriously, those are cool. I've been thinking of doing something like that out of a stainless water bottle for my 9S. Do those have any kind of lock?

FYI some Xylene or goof off will take the paint off.

Looks good!

I'm going to mount mine to the rack like Dr. Greg, so I will be able to have them on the bike if I leave the cases off. I just can't justify the expense of the hardware that Dr. Greg used, although it is top quality and looks good. I've seen some other hardware ideas posted here that I may try.

Mount some amber lights on those things for a nice set of turn signals.

I did the same mount as Dr Greg, only used 75c clips from Home Depot. 100 miles this weekend, with some large potholes (that covered the whole road) and my tubes did not spin. The tubes are even useful for day to day riding. I have been putting store bought plastic water bottles in them. (plus I enjoy the reactions from by buddies when I unscrew the lid and pull out the water bottle for a drink).

I was thinking of buying some of that reflective tape and cutting a piece to fit on the lids, and maybe a strip down the sides. You would not see this tape while standing next to the bike, but 20' away it's going to light up when a car hits you with the head lights.

Just got done rubbing off all the yellow on them and reading Dr. Greg's mounting solution and Tow's alternate one. I had considered mounting them to the frame as well, but I wasn't sure about the idea of them being closer to the swingarm and being able to potentially pivot, though it appears you guys have no problem with it that way either.

I did mine like yours, only I added two more to the back of the cases as well.

It looks like they were supposed to be there.

Can you take a picture? I looked at the back of the case method but couldn't get it to line up very well.}

Another alternative to the "rubbing the yellow off" method is to get a can of Fusion plastic paint in texture black. Spray it on, looks factory, doesn't chip (at least, not before I got my Uly and the tubes re-covered in muck!).

If you just want to pull the yellow off, spray it with brake cleaner and wipe. Comes right off.

Whisper, they were in the electrical area, the same area where you find zip ties. They come 2 in a bag, with the cardboard piece shown below in the bag.
They come in different sizes. I think they were hanging on a wall, in the bags. I also think contact cleaner is found in the same place. I think they use 1/4" bolts.

I just used a few of those exact clamps recently. One for the clutch cable, the overflow tubes, wiring, etc. They are sturdy enough to hold but will bend just enough not to bind anything. Plus the rubber prevents chaffing. I hate chaffing, it gives me a rash.

Unrealtrip:

You have to shave the upper and lower tabs and drill some new mounting holes to make it fit.

Use a hack saw, takes all of 5 minutes.

Much easier to get to, I use one of them for a tool roll.

I'll see if I can get some pictures.
