I've recently finished one of the most enjoyable books on the topic of motorcycle travel that I've read in a very long time. I thought it worth at least a mention here. I am in no way affiliated with the sales of this book or Amazon, but the positive reviews I've read there were correct in my opinion. Stylistically, it's written honestly with bits of irony, sarcasm and lots of good humor. Elements of this book struck home some of the intrinsic attractions of why we ride motorcycles. Besides, if a book can make you cringe one minute and chuckle the next, it's one helluva read. She has a website up with some of the photos from the journey. I am also flattered to have received a response to fan-mail, dumb questions or not.

I'm going to check it out. I've really loved Neil Peart's book(s), as well as the fun magazine column collections like "Leanings" and "101 Road Tales". I wrote a story about my own weeklong solo journey in Scotland as a novice rider, published only to my family and friends.

More! More!

I think you guys will enjoy the read. I just got her second book in the mail. It took several weeks for it to arrive but I'm looking forward to it. I've been meaning to pickup a copy of "Leanings", and I'll need to check out the other. Hooper, on your journal, I'm currently working on one myself; perhaps when and if I ever finish, we could barter. I may even look to this forum for feedback to help me edit the thing.

Yeah, I can't help but edit the thing every time I read it (which is a good thing). Let me know how it goes!
