After a 480 mile day and a couple turn arounds to avoid water crossings I went ahead into a foot and a half deep water at my cabin. Bad idea...it died after about 20 feet. It started and ran immediately out of the water. The can took on alot of water and took a while to blow out. Could have been worse. I know the bearings don't like it but it was an experiment.

Once got stuck crossing a stream, bike fell over on me and got half way submerged, the BAS kicked in fast and cut it off thankfully. Got her back up and she started right up. She wasn't happy with the mud coming out of brand new cold air intake carbon fiber cover, but it was a fun trip : )

Avoid water crossing are words I don't understand.

Your bike is faulty Mr MTO.

Danger_dave Why would you push a bike across croc water? I would think you would want to get out of there as fast as possible.

bearings at 15k if you are riding it through the water, belts at 8-9k. Preemptive checks are your friend. Get on with the bendy and dirty.

It was really slippery and they (factory crew) were worried we would fall off.

Should be fine with water below air-box height and revs up above ~2k to keep the exhaust free.

As usual I'll drag up the only vid of me through water hahah;
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-911455080 6442135267

Deepest I've done is a ~100 metre smooth sealed fjord with water inline with the tank filler - hold it steady above ~40km/hr and the bow-wave keeps the airbox perfectly dry.

Biggest problem IMO is the wall of water thrown off the front wheel, calls for some creative stand-up-on-tippy-toes riding positions hahahh.
