I recently did some upgrades on my 06 Uly, a drummer muffler and a high flow breather. The aftermarket shop that I deal with has a dyno, and they did the adjustments to the ecm. I cannot get the direct link software to clear the DTC codes on the ecm. The service manual says that because after the initial cycle thru the check engine light comes back on and stays on longer than 8 seconds that its a existing problem and not a stored code. I am going to make the jumper tomorrow and record the codes, to see what they are. I don't know if it will give me a code for not having the intake/exhaust servo plugged in as that is no longer there, the other thing is we had to remove the O2 sensor out of the rear exhaust to get a accurate reading with the dyno O2 sensor, could I have damaged it, as we left it hooked up at the plug and just unscrewed it out of the header. The programmed air/fuel values are good to a little on the fat side, the bike runs a lot better, a lot more torque, fan operates as before. Just can't clear the DTC codes. Any advise or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Also has anyone used the direct link software for the ecm programming. It seems not very user friendly and we had a hard time with program crashing a lot causing wasted time and lots of frustration. |

I was thinking about doing the same so.. My understanding is that you will get an engine light when the exhaust servo is unhooked. I did see a plug in part for just that issue but can't remember where, anybody? |

Odds are its because you disconnected the servo. Get a RaceECM or disable the servo with ECMspy. Did you do a open airbox mod? If its still the stock airbox with a K&N you can just connect the servo and it won't do anything other than clear the code. |

You'll throw a CEL without the exhaust servo cable being hooked up -- it doesn't actually have to actuate anything to avoid that situation. I've got mine hooked up, on both ends in fact, and everything's happy and I have no servo. |

ECM Spy, turn off the servo op check parameter, easy peasy. Bruce |

Yes the code will clear as long as it is connected. You can try to duct tape it to the air filter lid till you get it perma-fixed. |

Thanks for all the help, it was in fact a DTC21, I plugged in the servo and problem solved. Instead of duct tape I used velcro with sticky on one side it sets perfectly on top of the new breather plate. |
