anyone have an update on what is going on there with products for the Uly? and possibly when they will return. Was there something wrong with the rack?

I spoke to them last week and got the same one to two month response. Regardless they will not be producing their own rack. Rather they will be fitted to other racks.

There wasn't anything wrong with the rack they produced. They just didn't have enough annual sales to merit another production run. I suppose we could try to have a group buy, but at this time they do not have plans to produce more.

However..., they do have a solution now. If you have a Givi rack you can purchase the "ALS Luggage for Givi Rack" set from Caribou Cases:

http://www.cariboucases.com/store/?name=Catalog&mo de=i&item=000132

I haven't researched if Buell/HD will sell anyone just the rack, but I did find a compatible rack that Roger, of Caribou Cases, said should work. Check it out here:

http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/3 744/474/
Of course the install directions for the rack are in German!?!?

Rack >>>>> $225.00
Cases >>>> $470.00
TOTAL >> $695.00 + shipping

Does anyone want to be the guinea pig?

Without getting into the multitude of nuts, bolts and washers, the rack part numbers for the stock X/XT side case racks are:

90089-05Y right side, $83.00
90085-05Y left side, $83.00
90090-05y cross brace (left to right under taillight), $65.00

Again - these do not include nuts, bolts, washers, the little rubber tape rub-stop pieces, etc.; just the three main pieces.

I have got the twisted throttle mounts ordered. It takes about a month to get them when ordered. Ordered mine june 10th and they are scheduled to ship July 11th.

I will let you know how it goes. But another bad webber has already done it.

You can buy the rack and mount kit from Happy Trails and buy the pelican cases separate or buy the complete kit with aluminum panniers.

I bought the Caribou system before they ran out and I will have to say that over all I like it. I even ordered just the brackets for my DR650 so I can switch them back and forth. I just am not in love with side entry cases and a couple of times things have fallen when I closed them and water leaked in because the seal wasnt good. They also didnt have any kind of top case, but I won a pelican 1600 on ebay and am looking for a welding shop here in Houston that can fab some brackets and weld them to the caribou brackets. If I had the equipment I know I could do it myself. For now I am just using an ortlieb water proof bag that works ok, but I need more storage for when I am traveling with my wife. Need to get to work on that.

Ratbuell can you finally just buy the racks with the bags for the Uly and XT. That would be huge if it is true.....

Racks are a replacement part.

Use the part numbers listed above.
