I did a Baja California Tour last year on a Yami, pretty decent roads and some fun gravel/ hard pack. Anybody ridden a Uly down south of the border? I noticed that there is no Buell Dealers in Mexico, just Harley. How dreaded are my plans for a southern adventure on the City-X this winter? Chime in. and yes I ride it like a ULY |

Check out this thread... http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/370232.html?1214043801 Maybe not as deep into Mexico as you want to go, but it has been done. |

Cityx- That was my trip that wbrisett turned you on to(thx wayne). FWIW, I did have 2 problems after I got into AZ(fork seal, vr/stator-2 seemingly common Uly failures). On my previous bike, I did 4 or 5 trips down south, as far as Oaxaca, Jalisco, Cuernavaca, etc. If you are confident in your bike and speak a bit of spanish, go for it. You'll love it. Winter is a great time, as most of MX will be warm or temperate, and the mountains will be cool. If you have any questions, let me know. |

I dont speak any Spanish besides menu from the local chain. I am sure I could get by, it cant be any more difficult than Russian. I went last year on the Yami, thinking of a long disappearing act this winter for snow birding. 92 straight days of rain this last winter, wear on ya kind of fast. I want to run all the way to Cabo, and then back up. as I get closer to doing it, I will drop you a note. Thanks |
